BASKETBALL: 2013 NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND : GAME TIMES / CLUB EVENTS

The 2013 NBA All-Star Game is an exhibition basketball game that will be played on February 17, 2013 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, which is also the home of the Houston Rockets. This game will be the 62nd edition of the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game and will be played during the 2012–13 NBA season. The Houston Rockets were awarded the All-Star Game in an announcement by commissioner David Stern on February 8, 2012. This will be the third time that Houston had hosted the All-Star Game; the city had previously hosted the event in 1989 at the Astrodome and 2006 at the Toyota Center. Starters for the game were selected by the fans, who could select three frontcourt players and two guards from each conference. Previously, fans selected two forwards and one center instead of generic frontcourt players. Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers received the most overall votes at 1591437. Starting this year, NBA All-Star Saturday Night will become contests between Eastern and Western Conferences. 2013 NBA All-Star Game: www.nba.com Date: February 17, 2013 National Anthem: John Legend (American); Gloria Reuben (Canadian) Halftime Show: Alicia Keys Network: TNT Schedule of Events (February 14-17, 2013): www.nba.com Celebrity Game LineUp: bleacherreport.com STARTERS Eastern Conference; Starters: James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Garnett, Dwyane Wade, possibly Kyrie Irving manning Rondo’s starting spot. In a discussion on MSNBC’s The Cycle about the White House increasing the number of We The People petition signatures required to mandate a formal response, Touré said that he found the number of secessionist petitions emanating from Southern states to be especially revealing. He said he believed this stems from southerners who cannot stand to be governed by a black president. SE Cupp pounced on that remark saying that, while she finds secessionism to be offensive, she found Touré’s prejudicial remark to be just as offensive. “The slew of secession petitions out of the south really interests me,” Touré said. “This idea that there are a lot of Southern people who want to have nothing to do with Obama’s America. And I don’t think you can say that there’s any policy that has changed America so much that…” “Obamacare,” Cupp suggested. “That has not been enacted yet,” Touré replied. “I think they’re talking about, ‘we don’t want to be in a country run by a black man.'” “That’s so offensive that you’re maligning an entire region of the country and injecting race into their psyches because they don’t like the polices of this president,” Cupp fired back. “I find secessionism actually offensive,” Cupp added. “I find that idea offensive, but I think it’s equally offensive to call these folks racist when you know nothing of their viewpoints and don’t know anything of their criticisms.”
