How These Student Military Cadets Honored Barbara Bush As She Was Laid To Rest Was Just Stunning

America lost a legend in Barbara Bush this week, but our military was not about to let her go without the proper honor.

After First Lady Barbara Bush passed away at the age of 92, the nation mourned. Her Secret Service refused to leave her casket. Thousands lined up to pay respects to the Bush family at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston. Her funeral was attended by Melania Trump, Barack and Michelle Obama, and Bill and Hillary Clinton.

After the service, the Bush family accompanied Barbara’s casket to the Bush presidential library in College Station, Texas. Well-wishers and mourners lined the road as the hearse drove by.
Once the hearse entered the library property, there was a stunning student military group display waiting to honor Barbara. The drive was lined with 700 of Texas A&M’s Corps of Cadets, uniformed and at attention.

According to their website:

The Corps is the largest, oldest and most visible student organization and leadership training program at Texas A&M. It is also one of the largest uniformed bodies of students in the nation.

A majority of our leadership training graduates pursue a career in the public or private sector; however, the Corps of Cadets consistently commissions more officers than any institution other than the service academies. An average of 40-45% of our cadets pursue a military commission in the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps.

Through the Corps of Cadets, you can excel as a leader through participation in the premiere values-based military and civilian leadership program in the country.
As the casket arrived, the Bush family stood at attention as members of the military honor guard carried Barbara to her final resting place.

Trump Is Right: A ‘Pakistani Mystery Man’ Has Documents Wasserman Schultz Didn’t Want Prosecutors To See

A key, if under-covered, aspect of the “Pakistani mystery man” story is that Imran Awan, the Pakistani-born IT aide of former DNC head Debbie Wasserman Schultz, took a laptop with username RepDWS after he was banned from the House computer network for “unauthorized access to data,” and then left it in a phone booth with a letter to prosecutors.

On Friday, President Donald Trump tweeted: “Just heard the Campaign was sued by the Obstructionist Democrats. This can be good news in that we will now counter for the DNC Server that they refused to give to the FBI, the Debbie Wasserman Schultz Servers and Documents held by the Pakistani mystery man and Clinton Emails.”

Trump appears to have accurately identified a key issue with the “Pakistani mystery man” that comes straight from court documents.

Lawyers for Pakistani-born Imran Awan currently have a copy of the contents of a laptop with the username RepDWS
Wasserman Schultz wanted to block prosecutors from seeing what was on it
Imran’s lawyers have attempted to set up a situation where it is up to Imran whether prosecutors can see the laptop, claiming “attorney client privilege”
Other analysts say the laptop should be fair game for review
Each twist has increased the intrigue:

On Feb. 2, 2017, Imran was banned from the House computer network for making “unauthorized access” to congressional data, according to the House inspector general
This happened not long after Wasserman Schultz was fired from the DNC after a cyber breach, yet she refused to fire Imran or even put him on paid leave, claiming that an IT aide didn’t need to access the internet to do his job
Wasserman Schultz’s refusal to fire him meant he had continued physical access to the congressional office buildings, even though all of his other part-time employers fired him and he knew there was an ongoing criminal investigation
On April 5, 2017, despite not being allowed to connect to the House network, he was in possession of a laptop with the username RepDWS and left it in a phone booth, where it was picked up by police who confiscated it because they recognized that it was left there by a criminal suspect
Let that sink in. A Pakistani IT aide, who had just been fired by all his other employers for being a suspected hacker, left a laptop with the username RepDWS in a phone booth. The laptop was placed next to a letter to prosecutors. What it said is not publicly known. The cache of documents also included copies of Awan’s ID (which assured that police tied the laptop to a criminal suspect and seized it as evidence rather than returning it as lost property) and a note that said “attorney client privilege,” which put the laptop into legal limbo.

It is not clear whether the laptop was left out of carelessness or was potentially stolen and possibly planted for police to find.

It was left in the booth (photo to the right) with highly specific and sensitive materials
It may have been left there late at night. Building staff called police at 12:21 a.m. to report “an unattended bag in the phone booth on the 2nd floor.” Imran’s attorney said in court that it was snatched by police while he had stepped out of the phone booth to search for better reception: “What occurred is a backpack from my client was found, he was trying to get a better signal, there was a note that said attorney client privilege and a hard drive.” Gowen later offered TheDCNF a seemingly conflicting account, saying in an email: “He wasn’t there late at night that is just false.”
The phone booth is in the Rayburn House Office Building. Wasserman Schultz’s office is in Longworth, a different building.
What happened next adds to the mystery. On May 17, 2017, Wasserman Schultz used a hearing on the Capitol Police’s budget to threaten Police Chief Matthew R. Verderosa with “consequences” if he didn’t return what she characterized as “a member’s equipment.” She repeatedly asked whether it was a member or a staffer who was under investigation, saying since it was a member’s equipment, police shouldn’t be able to take it unless the member was under investigation. A member of the Committee on Appropriations’ Legislative Branch Subcommittee, she has significant influence over the Capitol Police’s budget.

California Laws Calls Conversion Therapy ‘Fraud’ But No Word On Psychiatry, Astrology and Vaccines

California passed a law protecting LGBT people. Sorta. The State Assembly, which banned conversion therapy for minors back in 2012, voted to tighten up its laws by classifying conversion therapy as fraud, protected under consumer protection law. On April 19, Assemblyman Evan Low led lawmakers in Sacramento to pass bill AB 2943; it now heads to Governor Jerry Brown (D) for signing. No word yet on psychiatry, vaccines, psychmeds, pilates, yoga, chiropractic, therapy dogs, aromatherapy, religion and the usual. Oh, and no word if you wanted to convert from gay to straight. Ot whatever. See?

Carjacking At Chicken Joint Thwarted When Good Guy Teaches Punk A Lesson

Carjacking At Chicken Joint Thwarted When Good Guy Teaches Punk A Lesson

Source: https://goo.gl/mjc385
All he wanted was some chicken, but a 49-year-old Florida man came face to face with danger on Sunday instead. Luckily, he was able to defend himself and teach a carjacking punk a lesson because he had his firearm with him. This is another case of a good guy with a gun, protecting himself from harm, that the mainstream media would rather you not hear about.

Leon Anthony Ducally was headed into the New Texas Fried Chicken near the Mall at Millenia in Orlando around midnight when he was approached by an alleged carjacker, later identified as 36-year-old Jan Demetri Goodman, who he said assaulted him as he walked into the business, The Orlando Sentinel reported.

Ducally, who has a valid concealed carry permit, stood his ground and shot Goodman. When police arrived at the scene, they found Goodman unresponsive. Police unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate Goodman before he was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Goodman had an arrest sheet a mile long that included selling marijuana, evading police officers, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and violation of probation, according to Arrest Facts.

And, this shooting was not the first of its kind this year. A similar incident occurred in Milwaukee in February when a 21-year-old suspect, identified as Carlos Martin, was shot and killed by his intended victim, a 24-year-old man, near the Milwaukee MachineTool Corporation. It was a shooting that, police said, should have been something would-be carjackers considered before attempting to rob someone, Fox 6 reported.

“It’s sad. It’s unnecessary and it’s completely preventable,” Alderman Cavalier Johnson said. “That young man didn’t have to die today. He didn’t have to lose his life, but he made a bad decision and he did,” he added.

“You feel threatened like that, and you end up having to take somebody’s life — I can’t even imagine what type of trauma you end up going through,” Alderman Johnson continued. “This isn’t a game. This isn’t live-action Grand Theft Auto. You don’t respawn after you’re dead.”

Many workers in the area said that carjackers were a common issue and that many of them were concealed carry permit holders. The shooter, in this case, also had a permit.
“It’s really dark over here, and early in the morning, it makes you a little nervous and scared now to come into work that early,” Leah Williams told Fox 6. “He was protecting himself basically.”

“It’s a war zone, so you’re used to carjackers. You’re used to murderers. You gotta watch out for stuff like that. If not you’re a victim — I’m not trying to be a victim,” Gabriel Alwin said, adding, “I think everybody around here pretty much carries. We got guys that carry here and I’ve told them when we pull in here and we’re waiting, put it right on your lap. Put it on your lap and we face the gate. We back in so our fronts are facing the gate open. Everything is conscious of what’s going on in this area.”

In that case, the suspect was armed with a gun. The details of the Florida case are not currently known. But, this is what liberals cannot comprehend about the right to bear arms. If the victim in Sunday’s attack had waited for police, he would have gotten carjacked first and possibly murdered. The police cannot be everywhere at the same time, and criminals often stalk their victims. They search their surroundings and wait for a time when police are not around to strike.
This is the reason that Americans fight hard for their right to bear arms. In that microsecond, the victim has the opportunity to fight or be killed. The Second Amendment affords American citizens the right to defend themselves. It is a right, not given by the government but by God, and enshrined in the Constitution to not be taken from us. If liberals want to rely on the kindness of their attackers to not murder them, they have that right. But, to attempt to take the right to self-defense from other Americans is unconscionable.

Comedian Sarah Silverman Absolutely Destroys Billionaire Jeff Bezos For Post On Lavish Vacation

Comedian Sarah Silverman ripped the world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos, for posting pictures of his extravagant dog-sledding vacation in Norway while his employees are forced to take food stamps to get by.

It all started when the Amazon founder, worth $112 billion, posted this:
“Official statistics suggest that 11.8 percent of Amazon’s 6,000 Ohio workers might receive food stamp benefits,” Snopes has reported.

“In five out of these six states, Amazon cracked the top 20 list of companies with the most employees enrolled in the SNAP program,” The Intercept reported, using the acronym for food stamps.

The numbers show that the company relies disproportionately on the program even accounting for its size: Amazon was the 28th largest employer in Arizona last year, but it ranked fifth for the number of employees enrolled in SNAP. It held the fifth slot in Pennsylvania as well, though it’s only the 19th largest employer. In Kansas, where Amazon isn’t even among the top 50 largest employers, it still ranked 17th for the number of employees using SNAP at the beginning of this year. Similarly, the company ranked 53rd in overall employment numbers in Ohio last year but 19th when it came to employees using SNAP. In Washington, where Amazon’s headquarters employ many white-collar workers, its employees were still the 17th most reliant on SNAP over the past four years.

What’s more, a new report by a writer who went undercover in an Amazon warehouse in Britain, said workers there have to urinate in bottles because they have so little time.

“The author James Bloodworth went undercover at an Amazon warehouse in Staffordshire, UK, for a book on low wages in Britain. He found that the warehouse’s fulfillment workers, who run around Amazon’s massive warehouses gathering products for delivery, had a ‘toilet bottle’ system in place because the bathrooms were too sparse to get to quickly,” Business Insider reported.

“For those of us who worked on the top floor, the closest toilets were down four flights of stairs,”Bloodworth told The Sun. “People just peed in bottles because they lived in fear of being disciplined over ‘idle time’ and losing their jobs just because they needed the loo.”

Amazon is known to track how fast its warehouse workers can pick and package items from its shelves, imposing strictly timed breaks and targets. It issues warning points for those who don’t meet its goals or who take extended breaks.
