Just when you think liberals can’t get more anti-American, they go and prove you wrong.

That’s precisely what happened when Obama’s former officials just penned an op-ed for the New York Times, calling on European allies of the U.S. to take the side of State Sponsor of Terrorism, Iran.
The bottom line is that progressives would rather see America fail than supporting the positive America First agenda by President Trump.

Even for Democrats, it’s disturbing.

American liberals might have nothing but contempt for the freedom and strength that make the country great when they’re talking in private, but they used to be smart enough to know that they had to at least pretend to be patriotic in public.

But as the Trump administration keeps pushing its agenda of putting America first, even that mask is coming off — and what’s underneath is ugly.

In an op-ed published by The New York Times on Friday, two men who served on the staff of the National Security Council in the Obama White House openly called for traditional American allies in Europe to take the side of the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism over the leader of their own country.

According to Steven Simon and Jonathan Stevens, President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal is an insult so grievous that European governments should consider pulling their ambassadors out of Washington — and expelling American ambassadors from their own capitals.

And do this to show their allegiance to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This is no small thing.

According to The Times biography note, Simon is the author of a forthcoming book about U.S. foreign policy and the so-called “Arab Spring.” He was also the National Security Council’s senior director for the Middle East and North Africa from 2011 to 2012.
tevenson, meanwhile was the “director for political-military affairs, Middle East and North Africa, at the National Security Council from 2011 to 2013.”

That would put both men in key roles in the Obama national security team while the president and his first secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, were making building a disaster of U.S. policy in Libya that helped flood Europe with millions of “migrants” today. (The disaster also included the deadly terrorist attack on the American diplomatic outpost in Benghazi that Democrats are still lying about.)

In other words, this isn’t some loony commenter at Vox joining up with a a half-stoned reader at Salon. This is the thinking of two serious — if demonstrably inept — leftist foreign policy mavens.

And it’s seriously infuriating.

First, the two men acknowledge that the different countries of Europe have different leadership, but propose “Europe” acts as a whole as an opponent of the Trump decision on the Iran deal (as though the continent is governed by a bunch of faceless bureaucrats in Brussels).

And they want Europe to defy the Trump administration’s sanctions on Iran by continuing to do business with the murderous mullahs — and make the point with diplomatic strikes of their own against the U.S.

“The European Union could, for instance, announce the withdrawal of member-states’ ambassadors from the United States. Isn’t this what states do when diplomatic partners breach solemn agreements, expose them to security risks and threaten to wreak havoc on their economies? That is, after all, what the administration is threatening to do by courting the risk of a Middle Eastern war and applying secondary sanctions to European companies. Depending on the American response, European capitals might even follow up with expulsion of American ambassadors.”

If that provokes the Trump White House, they wrote (and it certainly would), it would be time to ratchet up the pressure:

“If the administration’s next move were to impose secondary sanctions on Europe, the Europeans (sic) could slap its own penalties on American multinational corporations, which in turn would place additional pressure on the White House.”

So these two men, high-ranking national security officials in the United States government not all that long ago, are literally pushing American allies to launch a trade war with the United States.

They “justify” the argument by claiming that the Iran nuclear deal is of such crucial importance that Europe’s own commercial future is at stake, and Trump’s decision is imperiling that.

The name, which is of Spanish and Greek origin and means “black,” skyrocketed a whopping 720 spots on the list of most popular baby girl names from slot number 1,650 in 2016 to slot number 930 last year as more and more people bestowed it upon their children.

The news comes just after a poll this week showed Trump’s approval rating soar 10 percentage points in the just past few months, with 57 percent of respondents holding a favorable view of her compared to just 47 percent in January.

The poll also indicated that a majority of both men and women view the first lady favorably, with 60 percent of men and 54 percent of women saying they have positive opinions of her.

While the name Melania saw a corresponding increase in popularity, President Donald Trump’s first name didn’t fare so well. “Donald” sadly remained in the same spot over the past two years at 488th on the list of boy names in the U.S. in both 2016 and 2017.

In fact, the president’s name reached its peak popularity a full 12 years before he was born, as Donald marked number six on the list back in 1934.
“Emma” and “Liam” were the most used baby girl and boy names in 2017. Other baby girl names that saw a significant rise in popularity last year were “Ensley” and “Oaklynn.”

If regular people did the things Hillary Clinton and John Kerry have done, they’d be sitting in a federal jail cell right now.

While Hillary abused classified documents and turned the State Department into a “pay to play” headquarters, John Kerry was running around, holding a secret meeting with our enemies, in an effort to undermine the President of The United States.
We know Hillary is not being held accountable for her crimes (thanks, Jeff Sessions), but why on earth is John Kerry being given a free pass?

Like Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State John Kerry apparently enjoys the immunity from prosecution that being a powerful Leftist brings you today.

The Boston Globe revealed Friday that Kerry is working hard to sabotage President Trump’s foreign policy regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran. Kerry reportedly “sat down at the United Nations with Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to discuss ways of preserving the pact limiting Iran’s nuclear weapons program.”

This was not, apparently, a one-off meeting between Kerry and the foreign minister of the regime that orders its citizens to chant “Death to America” in mosques every Friday: “It was the second time in about two months that the two had met to strategize over salvaging a deal they spent years negotiating during the Obama administration, according to a person briefed on the meetings.”

Further, the Globe reported that Kerry has not limited his shadow diplomacy to Zarif: “[Kerry] also met last month with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and he’s been on the phone with top European Union official Federica Mogherini … Kerry has also met with French President Emmanuel Macron in both Paris and New York, conversing over the details of sanctions and regional nuclear threats in both French and English.”

Today, Kerry’s spokesperson confirmed the meetings — but danced around admitting his behavior:

Why? Because John Kerry must know he has put himself in violation of a never-prosecuted federal law that only seems to be mentioned when a conservative is involved — for example, see what former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates said about Michael Flynn.
The Logan Act forbids unauthorized people from engaging in negotiations with foreign governments that are involved in disputes with the United States. The Logan Act’s intention is to prevent those unauthorized negotiations from undermining the position of the U.S. government.

Isn’t that exactly what Kerry is doing? Shouldn’t he be arrested and prosecuted?

He will not be. Kerry’s deep state peers think he is right, are hoping for his success, and couldn’t care less about the Logan Act. Just like they couldn’t care less about the security of classified State Department documents when they showed up on Anthony Wiener’s laptop next to his naughty selfies.

Kerry’s friends who are still employed in the U.S. government won’t be roused to care about the Logan Act unless one of their own is back in the White House, and, say, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo goes around the world drumming up support for the Trumpian foreign policy that the neo-Obama in the Oval Office is busy dismantling.

Pompeo is unlikely to do that, of course, because he, unlike Kerry and others on the Left, actually respects the law. But were he or some other member of the Trump administration to do what Kerry is doing now, the media outcry would be immediate and insistent, calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator — and that arrest would likely soon follow.

The law in the United States is for the little people, and for conservatives.

Popular culture is obsessed these days with a “white privilege” that extends even to the shampoo bottles in hotels (who knew?). But the most heinous example of privilege in today’s society is one that no one talks about: Leftist privilege.

The Wall Street Journal verified the Secret Empires revelation that Elaine Chao’s sister–who is Mitch McConnell’s sister-in-law–currently sits on the board of directors of the state-owned Bank of China. “Mr. Schweizer also points to the appointment of Ms. Chao’s sister, Angela Chao, to the board of state-owned Bank of China, 10 days after the 2016 election,” reported the Journal.

The Bank of China’s own website lists Angela Chao as a board member.

2. CONFIRMED: Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao received $5 million to $25 million from her father, James Chao, whose shipping company Foremost Group does massive deals with the Chinese government.

The New York Post, Politico, the Wall Street Journal, New York magazine, The Hill, and others have all confirmed that James Chao, Elaine Chao’s father and Mitch McConnell’s father-in-law, gave the Washington power couple a “gift” (that’s the way it was recorded on McConnell’s financial disclosure forms) of between $5 to $25 million in 2008. According to the Post, the “gift” had a major impact on the couple’s net worth: “In 2004, current Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, current U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, had an average net worth of $3.1 million. Ten years later, that number had increased to somewhere between $9.2 million and $36.5 million.”

Beginning in 2007, “just as the U.S. Senate was taking up sensitive legislation concerning China,” Schweizer reports that the Chinese government’s CSSC Holdings, Ltd.—the financial arm of the Chinese government’s military contractor CSSC—named James Chao to its board. CSSC Holdings also added Elaine Chao’s sister Angela Chao to its board as well.

“The fact that both the father-in-law and sister-in-law of Senator McConnell sat on the board of CSSC Holdings is highly unusual, to say the least,” writes Schweizer. “One could say it is unprecedented in American political history. In general, CSSC is a sensitive, critical asset of the Chinese government and operates under a veil of privacy and secrecy.”

3. CONFIRMED: Since Elaine Chao became Transportation Secretary, her family’s company Foremost Group has ordered 10 massive cargo ships from the Communist Chinese government’s China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).

As Peter Schweizer and Jacob McLeod reported, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) in-laws have ordered 10 massive cargo ships from the Chinese government since the senator’s wife Elaine Chao became Secretary of Transportation. Indeed, Politico confirmed that Foremost Group “now appears to be engaging in a brisk period of expansion. Before Trump’s inauguration in January 2017, it had 23 registered ships but since then has added 10 — more than a 40 percent increase in capacity — according to IHS Global ship registry information.”

4. CONFIRMED: Since becoming U.S. Transportation Secretary, Elaine Chao and her father, James Chao, have appeared in at least a dozen Chinese media interviews, including foreign interviews that featured the Department of Transportation symbol and her father’s book.

As Politico revealed on Monday:

In at least a dozen interviews with Chinese and Chinese-American media outlets since her nomination, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao has appeared beside her shipping magnate father, whose company carries goods between the United States and Asia, and who has given Chao and her husband at least $5 million in the past 10 years.

In many of the videos, James Chao is introduced as founder and chairman of the Foremost Group shipping company, and, in discussing a 2016 biography about his life, speaks proudly of his daughter’s role as secretary of transportation, as she sits beaming by his side.

Earlier today, a Guatemalan national was sentenced to life in prison following a March 2016 trial that resulted in a conviction for his participation in an international drug trafficking conspiracy. He was responsible for the distribution of multi-ton quantities of cocaine for illegal importation into the United States.

Acting Assistant Attorney General John P. Cronan of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and Special Agent in Charge Raymond Donovan of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Operations Division made the announcement.

Waldemar Lorenzana-Cordon, 53, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
“Waldemar Lorenzana-Cordon was a drug kingpin whose criminal organization had close ties to the violent Sinaloa Cartel and was responsible for transporting massive amounts of cocaine to be sold on our streets,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Cronan. “Lorenzana-Cordon’s life sentence sends a powerful message to leaders of drug trafficking organizations that, if they send their poison to our country, the United States and our international partners will work tirelessly to bring them to justice, no matter where in the world they may reside. I thank the dedicated prosecutors of the Criminal Division’s Narcotic and Dangerous Drug Section and law enforcement officers with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bilateral Investigations Group for their outstanding work on this important case.”

“One of the world’s most influential drug traffickers now faces American justice and DEA is pleased he will never be in business again,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Donovan. “Lorenzana-Cordon imported huge amounts of cocaine to the United States for over a decade, helping fuel our nation’s drug epidemic. He conspired with some of the most brutal and destructive drug networks in history, facilitating and coordinating huge shipments for the Sinaloa Cartel, among others. DEA’s work will always focus on these types of investigations: attacking the most powerful, influential global criminal networks and their many facilitators and associates.”

The defendant was convicted on one count of conspiring to unlawfully distribute cocaine for illegal importation into the United States. As proven at trial, the defendant along with his brother, co-defendant Eliu Lorenzana-Cordon, led an international drug trafficking organization with close ties to the Sinaloa Cartel. Between 1996 and 2009, the defendant and his co-conspirators received, stored, and distributed multi-ton quantities of cocaine from Colombia at their properties in Zacapa, Guatemala, for importation into Mexico and then ultimately into the United States. In February, Eliu Lorenzana-Cordon was sentenced to life in prison following a March 2016 trial resulting in a conviction.

On April 27, 2010, the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control designated the defendant and his brother, Eliu Lorenzana-Cordon, as Specially Designated Narcotics Traffickers pursuant to the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act due to their significant roles in international narcotics trafficking and their ties to the Sinaloa Cartel.

The DEA’s Special Operations Division’s Bilateral Investigations Unit and Guatemala City Country Office led the investigation, which was supported by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force program, the Criminal Division’s Office of International Affairs, the Chicago Police Department and the governments of El Salvador and Panama provided support and assistance. Finally, and in particular, the Justice Department wishes to convey its gratitude to the government of Guatemala for its steadfast commitment, collaboration and assistance in the investigation, extradition, and prosecution of this case.
