Vice President Kamala Harris faced online mockery for seemingly adopting a Southern drawl at her rally in Atlanta on Tuesday night. Footage from the star-studded event showed Harris jubilantly addressing the crowd, saying, “You all helped us win in 2020, and we’re gonna do it again in 2024!” The clip quickly spread online, with many commenting on her accent. Daily Wire host Matt Walsh joked about Harris’s “Sudden Onset Urban Accent,” while a meme account edited the clip to show her wearing a cartoon cowboy hat. Another commenter called the moment “cringe,” recalling a similar incident in November 2021 when Harris appeared to adopt a French accent during a visit to the Pasteur Institute in Paris. Despite the ridicule, Harris delighted her supporters at the event. The Harris campaign is preparing to announce her vice-presidential pick at a Philadelphia rally next week, after which she and her running mate will campaign across seven swing states in just four days.
