Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was named in a civil lawsuit filed in the Southern District of New York, alleging that he and Sean “Diddy” Combs r*ped a 13-year-old girl at an after-party following the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000. The lawsuit was originally filed in October with Combs as the sole defendant but was amended on December 8, 2024, to include Carter after he was identified as “Celebrity A” in the initial complaint. Carter vehemently denied these allegations, calling them “idiotic” and “heinous” and accused the plaintiff’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, of orchestrating a “blackmail attempt” by leveraging public scrutiny to pressure for a settlement.
