On April 21 Breitbart News reported that Yeti Coolers cut ties with the NRA Foundation and by April 22 a #BoycottYeti campaign was sweeping the nation on Twitter.
NRA president Marion Hammer explained the NRA Foundation is a charitable organization that raises money for youth and educational programs nationwide. She noted that Yeti products have long been a staple at Friends of NRA Foundation banquets and functions.
The NRA-ILA provided the following statement:
For years YETI Coolers have been a hot item for sportsmen at the Friends of NRA Foundation Banquet and Auction events around the country.
These Foundation events raise money to support youth programs and educational programs nationwide. The youth of America who benefit from these programs are the future hunters, hikers, fishermen/women, bikers, campers, wildlife photographers, mountain climbers, sportsmen/women and conservationists who will protect our natural resources and recreational lands.
Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation. That certainly isn’t sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping America’s young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities. These activities enable them to appreciate America and enjoy our natural resources with wholesome and healthy
outdoor recreational and educational programs.
The NRA Foundation is 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization.
In this day and age, information is power. We thought you needed this information.

Yeah, they back peddled but the damage is done.
Despite the company’s statement, which was posted on Facebook and Twitter, many commenters appear unconvinced about the statement, Fox News reported.
One user, who received 1,700 likes by late Monday, posted, “I will use all my Overpriced Yeti products for target practice and buy new RTIC coolers for my outdoor uses!!”
(RTIC is a cooler brand that competes with Yeti.)
Another user called the statement “damage control.”
This has to be one of the most foolish business decisions as of late, mainly because the very people who purchase the Yeti outdoor products, are the very people they just turned their backs on.
There are a lot of products out there that are equal if not better than the extremely over-priced Yeti coolers. So save your money and purchase coolers and mugs from companies that stand with you, not against you.
Lets face it, the left are not known for camping, fishing, hunting and outdoor activities!
