Former First Lady Barbara Bush passed away on Tuesday at the age of 92. Despite the fact that she often spoke out against him, President Donald Trump just put his feud with her aside to pay tribute to her in a beautiful way.

“Today, my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bush family. In memory of First Lady Barbara Bush, there is a remembrance display located at her portrait in the Center Hall of the White House,” Trump tweeted, according to Daily Caller.

President Trump had decided not to attend Barbara’s funeral in order to avoid making the situation more difficult for her family. The White House released a statement saying that Trump would not be attending the funeral “to avoid disruptions due to added security, and out of respect for the Bush Family and friends attending the service.”

Barbara had frequently spoken out against Trump after he defeated her son, Jeb Bush, in the Republican primary of the 2016 presidential election.

“I mean, unbelievable. I don’t know how women can vote for someone who said what he said about Megyn Kelly,” the former first lady told CBS News in 2016. “Terrible. And we knew what he meant too. Don’t you get in his firing line.”

Instead of attending the funeral himself, Trump sent his wife Melania to go in his place. She made a point of announcing beforehand that she would not be allowing reporters to accompany her to the funeral so that she could give the Bush family as much privacy as possible.

We applaud the Trumps for showing how classy they really are in the wake of Barbara Bush’s death. SHARE this story if you love and respect the Trump family!
