Finally, we hear from Maya Daykeeper and priest, Hunbatz Men who explains the strange beam of light which was emitted from the top of the pyramid (El Castillo) at Chichen Itza in 2009, and subsequently reviewed and studied by NASA research teams a few weeks after the event.
“Within these pages Sitchin gives us his complete vision of our past. ‘The Lost Book of Enki’ is a work of literature, written in the style of an Akkadian epic poem, and provides us with Sitchin’s version of the original ‘sourcebook’ for the Mesopotamian/Egyptian mythologies. He has set the book out in the form of 14 tablets, written out by the master Akkadian scribe Endubsar. In the text, Endubsar claims that the tablets were dictated to him by the god Enki himself.

Some of you who are unfamiliar with or who are new to the Ancient Astronaut Hypothesis, may be wondering about its relevance to the Egyptian god Thoth and the Emerald Tablets. Primarily through the works of Zecharia Sitchin and other scholars researching the ancient Sumerian, Babylonian and Akkadian texts, a connection has been proposed between the pantheons of Sumerian gods and the Egyptian gods. Actually, it is more than a connection, many of the gods are one and the same. One of the primary tenets of the Ancient Astronaut Hypothesis is that the Sumerian gods were real beings and not just part of a mythological construct of the earliest known civilization. As such, to find these gods’ equivalencies in other cultures and civilizations is of paramount importance. Such is the case Thoth.

The speculation of the existence of an additional planetary body in our solar system is not the fringe discussion of decades past. In fact, as we will see later in this treatment, several contemporary mainstream academics and astronomers are busy postulating, debating and searching for the existence of such a body in the heavens. Nonetheless, mainstream academia by and large does not support the specific notion of “Nibiru” as translated by certain individuals from the early Sumerian cylinder seals, specifically VA243 that is estimated between 5300 to 6000 years old depending on the reference.
The discussion regarding Nibiru will basically be the explanation of the ongoing confusion and debate regarding the translation of ancient Sumerian, Akkadian and Babylonian texts along with the scientific debate against its existence. There are key individuals that will be cited in this ongoing debate that represent primarily two opposing viewpoints. Basically the two viewpoints can be distilled to those that believe the texts are the works of myth and those that believe the texts describe actual events.
