The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the most sensational archaeological discoveries of all time. Originally written on 12 clay tablets in cuneiform script the story tells the tale of a Demi-God named Gilgamesh, who battles his way through numerous trials and tribulations. Long after it was found at the palace of Ashurbanipal in the ancient city of Nineveh scholars debated whether the story’s hero was a real king. Now that question seems to have been answered.
