During Kathy Griffin’s press conference to discuss the firestorm surrounding her Donald Trump “beheading” photo Friday morning, the comedian was asked about an interview she gave to Vulture in December in which she said was happy to “deliver a beat down” to Trump’s youngest son, 11-year-old Barron Trump.

“It’s not about trying to be an equal-opportunity offender anymore because Hillary got such a beat down. It’s his turn. So I’m happy to deliver beat down to Donald Trump — and also to Barron,” Griffin told Vulture at the Equality Now Gala on December 9.

“You know a lot of comics are going to go hard for Donald, my edge is that I’ll go direct for Barron. I’m going to get in ahead of the game,” she added.
When asked about the quote Friday morning, Griffin’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, said it had been given “years ago,” while Griffin said it had been a part of her act, when in fact, she said it in an interview with Vulture less than one year ago.

“You’re talking about something from a comedy act years ago, I think,” Bloom said. “We can have edgy comics in America. Comics can say things that are not appropriate for children. Comics can create images that are not appropriate for children… it is not the job of a comic to filter everything down to the level of an 11-year-old.”

Griffin later said during the press conference that she “would never want to hurt anyone, especially a child.”

TMZ reported this week that Barron Trump panicked after he saw the image on television, because he did not know who Griffin was or the context in which the photograph was taken.

Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly opted for a sultry dress design for her first NBC News interview this weekend, with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a blue velvet Yigal Azrouel dress costing roughly $990, Kelly showed off not only her shoulders, but also her legs as a large slit was cut up the side of the skirt.

Kelly paired the look with sky-high black velvet platform heels, tousled hair, black toenail polish and a giant gold ring that sat on her right hand. Kelly posted a photo on Twitter of her visit to St. Petersburg for a state dinner with Putin.
Days before, Kelly donned a trench coat look for an interview in St. Petersburg with a Russian state TV broadcaster. The look was paired with a black dress with a white collar and dark black tights.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) ripped into Tesla CEO Elon Musk Thursday night for his use of a private jet after the tech billionaire tweeted his disapproval of President Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, took to Twitter to announce that he would be departing from all future presidential councils in protest of President Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord. He assured his followers that global warming is real and that leaving the Paris accords is “not good” for America or the world.
Hours later, Cruz mocked Musk’s outrage, pointing out that he regularly travels around the country in his own private jet. If the billionaire CEO was so dedicated to reducing the world’s carbon output, Cruz snarked, he would choose to fly commercial planes rather than private ones.

Musk has come under fire previously for his liberal use of his private jet, which he upgraded last year from a Dassault Falcon 900 B to a Gulfstream G650 ER. It was reported in 2010 that Musk took private jets to Washington on at least 12 occasions over the course of two years to lobby the Department of Energy for a loan of $465 million, which Musk’s company Tesla was eventually granted.

Around the same time, Tesla also struck deals with the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority that made the company exempt from up to $320 million in California State sales and U.S. taxes.

Musk has been a vocal supporter of carbon taxes, saying, “All we are doing [with a carbon tax] is trying to match the inherent subsidy for fossil fuels… on the sustainable energy side. Fossil fuels are already getting a massive subsidy if you believe in global warming. If you don’t then [the subsidy] seems really unfair. If you do then it is like oh we are just trying to correct it.”

Comedian Kathy Griffin held a horror show of a press conference Friday, complete with tears and dick jokes.

On one hand, she reiterated her apology for posing for a picture with a bloodied beheaded President Trump. On the other, she played the victim, saying she was being silenced by the white guys at CNN, the network that canned her annual New Year’s Eve appearance this week.

None of the networks opted to carry her live suburban LA presser.

Fox News, however, livestreamed it.

She cried and cried and cried some more.

“I don’t think I will have a career after this,” Griffin said breaking down alongside her attorney Lisa Bloom.

She said Trump and his family are using her joke as a way to obfuscate his association with Russia. Bloom said her client has received death threats and has been told to not leave her home. She no longer receives deliveries or goes online. She has heard from the Secret Service.

“He broke me. He broke me. He broke me,” Griffin said, her voice cracking. “And then I was just like, this isn’t right.”

She continued, “Yeah, I may get arrested today. I don’t know.”

She essentially said Trump can kiss her ass.

“I’m not afraid of Donald Trump,” Griffin said. “He’s a bully. I’ve dealt with white guys trying to keep me down my entire career. I had learned over the years that sometimes when you do standup, people want a joke that’s out there and a little crazy. I feel horrible. I have performed in war zones. Trust me, if we could redo the whole thing I’d have a blowup doll and ketchup. If you don’t stand up you get run over. …The president and his family are trying to ruin my life forever.”
Speaking directly to the camera, she said “The Donald, it’s me, Kathy,” she said, adding that this will go “right over his nest.” She said he has messed with the wrong redhead. She followed up by calling his hairdo a “parfait” and saying she thinks first lady Melania Trump is no stranger to Nice & Easy hair dye.

On CNN firing her New Year’s Eve standup with Anderson Cooper, she said, “It’s hurtful to me. It’s a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me and that’s wrong.”

Bloom cracked that CNN founder Ted Turner would’ve never handled the incident by firing her.

At times Griffin was apologetic. But then she’d get defiant, saying she’s a comedian who will continue to make fun of Trump.

“I apologized,” she said repeatedly. “I really screwed up.”

And then: “Of course you have to make fun of Trump. By the way, I’m sure Megyn Kelly can’t stand me, but I don’t care.”

She explained how the whole thing went down:

“The guys went into the kitchen and started making fake ketchup,” she explained. “The whole thing took minutes. Okay, well let’s make this obvious that I’m making an absurdist artsy theme. We just took these pictures. I didn’t do it for any money. Just do it for something to talk about. It happened in minutes.”

She cried some more. But as soon as she’d melt down, she’d make a joke.

Like this beauty: “I go town to town with my dick jokes and try to make people laugh. I didn’t grab anyone’s you know what,” she said referring to Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood tape in which he told ex-NBCer Billy Bush he can have his way with women.

In other words, he can “grab ’em by the pussy.”
