The first nuclear weapon to be dropped on humans was the “Little Boy” atomic bomb, dropped on Hiroshima, Japan during World War II. The destruction caused killed thousands of people, injured many more, and caused long-lasting effects such as cancer and birth defects.

Wisconsin’s Rust Belt has been hit hard as factory jobs have been taken overseas. Through the conversion of former manufacturing spaces in this once industrial center in Wisconsin, Diane Hendricks is making Beloit a destination for tech start-ups, including Irontek, a tech incubator space housed in a former foundry. The focus is to bring new business to the area as opposed to bringing factory jobs back to the area, which has also revitalized the town’s downtown.
