As flood waters in Louisiana continue to rise and residents are desperate to get out, hoards of people were heading downstream when something came to the surface. The flood uncovered something long forgotten, and it left witnesses, who were wading in the wrong place at the wrong time, utterly horrified.

President Barack Obama was only disturbed on vacation for long enough to declare Louisiana in a state of disaster on Sunday, before heading back to his golf game and forgetting about it. The historical flood had left at least five people dead and 10,000 displaced residents in shelters. So far, 20,000 people have been rescued as the rain mercilessly falls, the Pacific Standard reported.
Just as some victims got out of their homes seeking safety, they were slapped with the reality of what had been underfoot all this time. While reuniting with loved ones during a devastation like this is typically what desperate victims hope for, the people of Denham Springs, Louisiana were met with people from the past who came unexpectedly floating to the surface.

The grim sight of rotting caskets bobbing up in the muddy flood waters was seen floating down neighborhood streets from a nearby cemetery, right past people desperately trying to escape their destroyed homes. It was a reminder of the toll this historical flood took on the area, with no stone or home left unaffected, and even deceased residents couldn’t rest in peace. The tragedy of this is that now their loved ones will have no place to return to pay their respects nor do they know where these caskets will end up.

President Barack Obama approved aid to the most affected parishes, but other than that, he has remained largely hands-off as to not be bothered by other people’s problems while he’s working on his golf game. Not a word of sorrow for what the devastation that citizens are experiencing has been said publicly by our president, proving that he couldn’t care less about this country and the people in it.

CAMDEN, N.J. – A federal inmate already serving a lengthy sentence for a child pornography conviction was sentenced today to 151 months in prison for possessing images of child pornography while incarcerated, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Erik M. Smith, 36, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Joseph H. Rodriguez to an information charging him with possession of child pornography through the use of a contraband micro SD card. Smith was already serving a 235-month sentence at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix (FCI Fort Dix) for his conviction in the Western District of Michigan for receipt of child pornography. Judge Rodriguez imposed today’s sentence in Camden federal court.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:

Smith possessed a 16-gigabyte micro SD card containing 263 images of child pornography, including 213 sexually explicit images of prepubescent children. He told another inmate the SD card included “mostly boy stuff,” referring to images of boys. Smith admitted that he downloaded these and other images of child pornography from a cloud account on behalf of other inmates.

Smith and seven other inmates were arrested in April 2017 and February 2018 following an FBI investigation involving multiple covert recordings and several cooperating inmates. The investigation revealed that Smith and other inmates utilized contraband cellphones, micro SD cards, and access to the internet to obtain, view, and distribute child pornography within the prison. A co-defendant organized and helped facilitate this criminal activity by maintaining cloud accounts that were used as repositories for child pornography. In addition to the prison term, Judge Rodriguez sentenced Smith to five years of supervised release.

U.S. Attorney Carpenito credited special agents of the FBI, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Gregory W. Ehrie in Newark, with the investigation. He also thanked officials of the Bureau of Prisons at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix for their assistance.

The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Gabriel Vidoni and Alyson M. Oswald of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Criminal Division in Camden.

Man Finds Kind Note On Hotel Bed Until He Read The Terrifying Last 4 Words

When you are staying at a hotel, it’s always nice to enjoy the pleasant amenities offered by the staff. However, when one man found what he thought was a kind note left by the housekeeping staff on his bed, he no longer was able to sleep after he read the note’s terrifying last four words.

Jon Ronson was enjoying his stay at a hotel in Boone, North Carolina until he found a note left by the housekeeping staff on his bed. Although the note began rather kind in nature, he was absolutely terrified when he read it all the way to the end.
Initially, Jon was delighted to find the note left on his bed by the staff – as if it was a kind gesture to make his stay a bit more memorable. However, there’s no doubt the staff didn’t realize that their rather simple message was actually a bit creepy.

“Hello! Hope you’re enjoying your stay. Please let us know if you need anything!” the note began, according to Mirror. “Enjoy your day, like it’s your last.”

The last four words were enough to send chills up his spine. Staying in a strange town and finding a note that is discussing his “last day” alive left him afraid to go to sleep.

There’s no doubt that Jon (or any other guest who received a similar note) didn’t get much shut-eye for the remainder of their stay. However, it seems the staff meant no harm and were actually just attempting to leave a kind note for their guests.

Perhaps he forgot to leave a tip to the staff and this was a subtle way of making Jon’s stay a little less enjoyable. Always remember to give gratuity when it’s earned and, more importantly, choose your words carefully.
