Scot Peterson, the cowardly cop who hid outside of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, while 19-year-old gunman Nikolas Cruz opened fire inside, just received a “special gift.” It comes three months after seventeen innocent people were killed during the mass shooting which Peterson did nothing to stop.

On February 14, 19-year-old gunman Nikolas Cruz stormed Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, and he fatally shot seventeen unsuspecting students and staff members inside. He injured many others in the massacre which has been described by some of the police officers who responded “as bad as you can imagine.”

In the midst of the carnage which was unfolding inside MSD on that fateful day, Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson cowered outside of the school, never venturing inside to confront the gunman or help save the innocent students who were being slaughtered.
Peterson was considered a trusted school resource officer at MSD, according to annual reviews of his performance, until the Valentine’s Day tragedy. He was stationed at the high school when Cruz opened fire, but he took cover outside the building instead of doing his job as the shooting unfolded.

Surveillance video showed Peterson waiting outside of MSD as Cruz prowled the halls with an AR-15. The officer was subsequently branded a coward by President Donald Trump, and Sheriff Scott Israel began an investigation into his actions. Israel said that Peterson should have “went in. Addressed the killer. Killed the killer.”
Peterson was vilified when the public learned that he could have stopped Cruz, but instead, chose to protect himself. He resigned and retired just one week after the shooting amid the controversy.

Peterson, a 33-year law enforcement veteran, was the resource deputy stationed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14 when 17 people were killed by gunfire.

As one of the largest mass shootings in modern U.S. history unfolded, Peterson never entered the building where alleged gunman Nikolas Cruz was opening fire and instead took up a position outside the building that was under attack.

Peterson, 55, was widely criticized for his actions and Broward Sheriff Scott Israel opened an internal investigation. The deputy resigned and retired on Feb. 23, “rather than face possible termination.” [Source: Fox News]

If you were furious to hear that Scot Peterson allowed children to die in order to save himself, you’ll be even more livid to learn that he is now being rewarded handsomely for his cowardice, to the tune of $8,702.35 per month.

Many speculated that Peterson had retired so soon after news of his cowardly inaction spread in order to save the hefty pension he had coming. Some even said that, perhaps, he did not confront Cruz during the shooting because he was eligible to retire and did not want to risk his own life so soon before his days of rest and relaxation were about to begin.

Any way you slice it, though, he’s a coward. If you’re not willing to walk into the line of fire, allow someone else to do the job so that innocent lives might be saved.

It appears that those who speculated about Peterson’s sudden retirement were right. Although the investigation into his response — or lack thereof — is ongoing, he has begun receiving his state pension.

He was paid $101,879.03 last year — $75,673.72 in base salary plus overtime and other compensation, according to sheriff’s office records. He’s now sitting pretty in retirement, raking in $8,702.35 per month, courtesy of the taxpayers.
While this is infuriating news for the general public who grieved with the friends and families of the Parkland victims, this new development will undoubtedly hit the parents of the Parkland victims the hardest. They are the ones who have to live with the fact that their children could have been saved if not for Scot Peterson’s selfishness. And they are the ones who are now funding his very comfortable retirement. What a slap in the face.

Leakers to the mainstream media news source, the New York Times, confirmed in a story that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) ran a spy operation on the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election involving government informants, secret subpoenas, and possible wiretaps.

This story comes just ahead of the release of the pending Department of Justice inspector general report on the FBI’s actions during the 2016 election. Many speculate this leak is a public relations attempt to paint the FBI’s efforts in the most flattering light possible. Yet many Americans believe there is no spin that can make this story into making the actions of the FBI acceptable. The FBI is supposed to be an apolitical agency, yet they have been discovered spying on the Trump campaign through phone records with “at least one” human asset.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter to speculate on the news, stating – “Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI “SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN EMBEDDED INFORMANT.” Andrew McCarthy says, “There’s probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign.” If so, this is bigger than Watergate!”
The NYT reports – “The F.B.I. obtained phone records and other documents using national security letters — a secret type of subpoena — officials said. And at least one government informant met several times with Mr. Page and Mr. Papadopoulos,” while citing “current and former officials” as their source of information.

The revelation of “at least one government informant” appears to confirm a Washington Post story last week in which leakers revealed that the FBI had a “top secret intelligence source” — a U.S. citizen who likely lived overseas — who had spied on members of the Trump campaign for the FBI. Many speculate that this person could possibly be Stefan Halper, a foreign policy expert and Cambridge professor who is connected to the CIA and its British counterpart, MI6.

The story reveals that the code name for the investigation on the Trump campaign was “Crossfire Hurricane,” based on a Rolling Stones song.

Nowhere in the story, however, is there evidence of any collusion during the campaign. The story states that Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, was about to be cleared in November 2016, until he took actions after the election that the FBI wanted to examine.

The story also asks the persistent and burning question – “The question they confronted still persists: Was anyone in the Trump campaign tied to Russian efforts to undermine the election? A year and a half later, no public evidence has surfaced connecting Mr. Trump’s advisers to the hacking or linking Mr. Trump himself to the Russian government’s disruptive efforts.”

WaPo‘s report came out as House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) was fighting the Justice Department for access to information on the source. After a battle between Nunes and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein over the release of classified information that was so top-secret that the DOJ refused to show Nunes on the grounds that it “could risk lives by potentially exposing the source, a U.S. citizen who has provided intelligence to the CIA and FBI” – the agency finally relented after Nunes threatened to hold Attorney General Jeff Sessions in contempt. Thus allowing Nunes and Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) to receive a classified briefing.

According to the Wall Street Journal‘s Kimberley Strassel, the source meant “the FBI secretly had a person on the payroll who used his or her non-FBI credentials to interact in some capacity with the Trump campaign.”

“This would amount to spying, and it is hugely disconcerting,” she wrote in a piece last Thursday.

The NYT story offers conflicting reports as to what the FBI has previously stated regarding the ongoing investigation into the Trump campaign. They have previously stated the investigation began with information that Papadopoulos had told an Australian diplomat he knew that Russians had stolen emails that would be embarrassing for Hillary Clinton.

After seeing a comprehensive report on the origins of the Russian investigation which confirmed that a government informant met with Trump campaign advisors multiple times President Donald Trump questioned if the Obama’s FBI actually spied on his campaign back in 2016. And the answer appears to be yes.

In an interview for “Fox & Friends” the head of the President’s legal team, Rudy Giuliani stated that if this is indeed true and Trump’s campaign was indeed spied on by the FBI then former FBI Director James Comey should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Guiliani’s statements came on the one-year anniversary of the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Democrat-led the investigation which picked up right where the FBI left off.

The New York Times who was out to give an accounting Thursday of the original investigation confirmed in the middle of their report that at least one government informant met several times with Mr. Carter Page and George Papadopoulos. Both of which were former Trump campaign advisers. The NY Times report went on to detail how the probe, which was originally called “Crossfire Hurricane” got started. It goes on to confirm that it all began during the final days of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server fiasco.
This all came together as Fox News had previously reported that back in August 2017 at a Senate testimony from Glenn Simpson who owns Fusion GPS had thought our the dossier. At that time Simpson testified that former British spy and dossier author Christopher Steele had confirmed to him that the FBI had intelligence from an “internal Trump campaign source.” But it’s not clear if the person Simpson referred to was the same person which has been confirmed by the New York Times.

Here is more information on operation “Crossfire Hurricane” from the New York Times: “Within hours of opening an investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia in the summer of 2016, the F.B.I. dispatched a pair of agents to London on a mission so secretive that all but a handful of officials were kept in the dark.

Their assignment, which has not been previously reported, was to meet the Australian ambassador, who had evidence that one of Donald J. Trump’s advisers knew in advance about Russian election meddling. After tense deliberations between Washington and Canberra, top Australian officials broke with diplomatic protocol and allowed the ambassador, Alexander Downer, to sit for an F.B.I. interview to describe his meeting with the campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos.

The agents summarized their highly unusual interview and sent word to Washington on Aug. 2, 2016, two days after the investigation was opened. Their report helped provide the foundation for a case that, a year ago Thursday, became the special counsel investigation. But at the time, a small group of F.B.I. officials knew it by its code name: Crossfire Hurricane.

The name, a reference to the Rolling Stones lyric “I was born in a crossfire hurricane,” was an apt prediction of a political storm that continues to tear shingles off the bureau. Days after they closed their investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, agents began scrutinizing the campaign of her Republican rival. The two cases have become inextricably linked in one of the most consequential periods in the history of the F.B.I.

This month, the Justice Department inspector general is expected to release the findings of its lengthy review of the F.B.I.’s conduct in the Clinton case. The results are certain to renew debate over decisions by the F.B.I. director at the time, James B. Comey, to publicly chastise Mrs. Clinton in a news conference, and then announce the reopening of the investigation days before Election Day. Mrs. Clinton has said those actions buried her presidential hopes.
Those decisions stand in contrast to the F.B.I.’s handling of Crossfire Hurricane. Not only did agents in that case fall back to their typical policy of silence, but interviews with a dozen current and former government officials and a review of documents show that the F.B.I. was even more circumspect in that case than has been previously known. Many of the officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly

Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s attorney, and longtime associate, just dropped a bombshell on Wednesday. Appearing on Fox News on Wednesday Giuliani revealed Special Counsel Robert Mueller should be wrapping up his investigation into the so-called collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign. Giuliani states Mueller “has nothing.”

Giuliani stated to Laura Ingraham – “It’s been a year, he’s gotten more than 1.4 million documents, he’s interviewed 28 witnesses, and he has nothing which is why he wants to bring the president into an interview.”

Mueller has notified President Trump’s legal team that he will follow Justice Department guidance and not seek an indictment against the president.

“All they get to do is write a report,” said Giuliani. A former federal prosecutor and mayor of New York City, Giuliani further revealed that Mueller’s investigators have not responded to five information requests from the president’s team. That has forced President Trump’s legal team to push off making a decision about whether the president will sit for an interview with the special counsel — a decision they had hoped to reach by Thursday.
As laid out in a Justice Department memo, federal prosecutors are barred from indicting a sitting president. Giuliani states Mueller has no choice but to follow its guidance.

Giuliani states: “They have only exculpatory information about us. I’ve been through the documents. So it’s about time to get the darn thing over with. It’s about time to say, ‘Enough. We’ve tortured this president enough.’

Giuliani states the president’s legal team is at this point demanding that Mueller’s investigators “tell us what you have to get from an interview that you don’t already have because he has all the facts to make a decision. We’re trying to get him to end this. This is not good for the American people and the special counsel’s office doesn’t seem to have that sort of understanding that they’re interfering with things that are much bigger than them or us.”

Meanwhile, the special counsel’s office and Trump’s legal team continue to hash out the conditions under which the President will communicate with investigators.

According to Fox News: “Giuliani joined Trump’s legal team last month and has repeatedly warned that an in-person interview of the president by the special counsel’s team would constitute a ‘perjury trap.’ Complicating matters, Trump himself has refused to rule out agreeing to an interview with Mueller.

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity earlier this month, Giuliani said that the Mueller team had ruled out allowing the Trump team to submit written answers to the special counsel’s questions.

Giuliani said last week that the president’s legal team would oppose any subpoena unless they could ‘reach agreement on the ground rules.’ He argued that Trump could invoke executive privilege, and the team would point to Justice Department opinions in fighting a subpoena and ‘on both law and the facts, we would have the strongest case you could imagine.’”
Giuliani adds that he is personally ready to challenge any reports issued by Mueller and his team, stating in a challenge to the special prosecutor – “I think that they have the facts on which they can write their report. If you’re going to write a fair report, fine, write it. If you’re going to write an unfair report, write it and we will combat it. We are ready to rip it apart.”

Giuliani has pointed to the fact that the Trump team has handed over 1.2 million documents to Mueller as evidence of cooperation with the probe – which marks its one-year anniversary on this week. Thus far, Mueller’s probe has resulted in the resignation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, the arrests of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, and the indictment of 13 Russian nationals on allegations of hacking the 2016 election – along with the raid of Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen.

Earlier this month, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein – who is officially in charge of the Russia investigation – admitted that President Trump cannot be indicted, stating – “The Department of Justice has in the past, when the issue arose, has opined that a sitting President cannot be indicted. There’s been a lot of speculation in the media about this, I just don’t have anything more to say about it.”
