Here’s Why Joe Biden Won’t Drop Out

Dmitri Mehlhorn, one of the most influential Democratic funders and operatives within the party’s establishment, has remained a staunch advocate for Joe Biden as the best Democratic nominee to defeat Donald Trump in November. Despite mounting pressure within the party, Mehlhorn has not wavered in his support for the President.

Recently, reports surfaced that during a private donor call, Mehlhorn remarked that a dead Biden would be a better candidate than a live Kamala Harris. In an hour-long interview with Drop Site News this weekend, Mehlhorn’s steadfast commitment to Biden was further explored. At a time when many are distancing themselves from the President’s candidacy, Mehlhorn confirmed the controversial comment but insisted it was taken out of context. The full quote was: “Kamala Harris is more threatening to those swing voters than a dead Joe Biden or a comatose Joe Biden.”

Mehlhorn’s interview with Drop Site News, a newly launched independent news organization, comes as Biden faces increasing pressure from the media and prominent party figures to step aside.
