The poll also shed light on broader trends in media consumption, with 65 percent of respondents indicating a desire to reduce their intake of government and political news due to “information overload, fatigue, or similar reasons.” Additionally, 50 percent cited overseas conflicts as a factor, and about 40 percent pointed to the economy and climate change as reasons for cutting back on news consumption.
These findings suggest a growing fatigue with political commentary, particularly from non-traditional sources like celebrities and athletes, and highlight a broader shift in how Americans engage with political and government-related media.
