Diyala, IRAQ – Four Iraqi people from the same family were killed and wounded when a bomb blast hit Diyala governorate today, a local official was quoted as saying, according to Iraqi News reports.

Mohammed Deifan al-Obeidi, the head of al-Azeem’s provincial council, told Alghad Press that, “An explosive charge went off while a car carrying a local family was passing on an agriculture road on the outskirts of Albu Daan village, northeast of al-Azeem district.” “The explosion left a woman dead and three others wounded.”

“All the casualties were found to be from one family,” al-Obeidi pointed out. “The slain woman was moved to the forensic medicine department, while the injured were carried to a nearby hospital for treatment.”

Meanwhile, a civilian was killed in a blast caused by a bomb from the remnants of war against Islamic State, northwest of Kirkuk, a security source said.

“A bomb went off in Kebeiba village in Dibs town, northwest of Kirkuk,” the source told Baghdad Today website.

The explosion, according to the source, left “a 21-year old man killed.”

In December, Abadi announced full liberation of Iraqi lands, declaring end of war against IS members. However, Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country.

A total of 68 Iraqis were killed and another 122 injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq in April, according to casualty figures recorded by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

As many as 3,298 civilians were killed and 4,781 others were wounded in 2017, excluding Anbar civilian casualty figures for November and December, which are not available, UNAMI said in a report in December.

Thousands of IS militants as well as Iraqi civilians were killed since the government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and the coalition, was launched in October 2016 to fight the militant group.

It’s crazy over there. What’s wrong with these maniacs?

Unbelievable.
