It’s sad to think that both Sam Kinison and Bill Hicks died two years apart. Sam was the first comedian I really got into as a teenager-but Bill was so much more intelligent-both men were great.

I love the fact that Bill actually knew a lot of real Elvis phrases and stuff. He knew the names of Elvis’ guys like Charlie Hodge too. You could tell Bill was a fan.

I agree. I’ve been lookin’ over my long out of print Kinison boxset, and also the Hicks DVDs and CDs I got, and Hicks’ routines hold up so much better and more over time.
Kinison was a fabulous very pop-centric “party animal” comic, but I agree, Hicks was miles ahead of his badly overweight friend.
