The National Football League has become a national disgrace after a devastating season that ended on a low note with the worst ratings in history. Entitled, anti-American players prioritized protests and shoving their political opinions in fans’ faces over playing the game. It’s fair to say that the game will never be the same and may not recover from one of the biggest and most devastating boycotts there has ever been. This is expected to hit highly paid players who have enjoyed all the fame and fortune of the NFL particularly hard.
For now, the field is off many football players’ minds as it’s the offseason and they’re taking the time to rest, relax, and break from the angst within the league. Green Bay Packers wide receiver Trevor Davis had planned to take the downtime in Hawaii but that all changed when he made a bomb threat and thought nobody would stop him. He found out the hard way that he’s not above the law no matter how important he thinks he is.
Davis was at the Los Angeles International Airport to catch a Hawaiian Airlines flight with an unnamed woman he was traveling with. Everyone who has ever traveled post-September 11 knows that going through security can be obnoxious. Davis couldn’t simply tackle his way through the line and the TSA and had to wait like everyone else. When it came time for his carryon items to be searched, the TSA agent asked a simple question that turned into a massive debacle and derailed Davis’ travel plans.
Police say Green Bay Packers wide receiver Trevor Davis was arrested after falsely claiming to have explosives while checking in for a flight at Los Angeles International Airport. Airport police spokesman Rob Pedregon said Monday that Davis was booked on a charge of making a false bomb threat at an airport and released with a summons to appear in court.
He said Davis was checking in for a Hawaiian Airlines flight when an airline employee asked him whether he had any explosives in his bag. Pedregon said Davis said “yes” and asked a woman he was traveling with, “Did you pack the explosives?”
TMZ reports that the woman said “no” and Davis said he was “just kidding.”
Airline employees called police and Davis was arrested. The woman wasn’t charged.
The team said it was aware of the matter and was still gathering additional information.
While an arrest over a joke seems like an extreme action to take and perhaps overreach of power, it’s important that you can’t take these things too lightly. Davis was joking but perhaps the next person won’t be who acts like it’s a joke and is sent free to fly because of it and does something dangerous.

We’re told cops were called and Davis was immediately taken into custody for misdemeanor criminal threats. He was booked — mug shot and all — and then released.
According to his booking sheet, Davis is listed at 6’2″, 195 lbs.
No word if he’s still planning on going to Hawaii.
However, we have to admit that the most satisfying thing about this is that an NFL star thought he was funny and likely expected everyone there to just laugh with him and praise him for being famous. Nope, he’s just another guy in the security line and the TSA were not impressed. It’s good to see that they take their job so seriously since travelers’ safety depends on it. It’s impossible for them to even crack a smile, let alone think a joke about bombs that they are actually looking for is funny.
Everyone should be held accountable equally no matter who or how famous you are. The rules apply to all, but that’s not something that another football star realized recently either when he was arrested at an airport.
We have heard far too many stories recently about the choices that many athletes have made that will affect their lives forever. These players are the examples that the children in America look up to, and they are setting terrible examples for them. From domestic abuse to threatening to kill innocent children, their choices are making more of a negative impact than they realize.
One New England Patriot’s player is going to learn the hard way that his choices could affect his career and the rest of his life.
According to USA Today, New England Patriots safety Duron Harmon was arrested at Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria International Airport for marijuana possession, according to reports.
Harmon was carrying in his suitcase 58 grams of marijuana inside a can of iced tea; three pipes with cannabis oil; one THC candy and four glass containers with compressed marijuana that weighed 4.3 grams, according to The Costa Rica Star and La Nacion.
