Michelle Carter is Not Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter in the Coerced Suicide of Conrad Roy

Michelle Carter, a now-20-year-old Massachusetts resident, is accused of persuading her boyfriend Conrad Roy III to commit suicide in 2014. Texts between the two teenagers show Carter (at times relentlessly) pressuring Roy, who had a history of mental health and suicide issues, to follow through on his thoughts about committing suicide. Both had a history of struggling with mental illness, and Roy had previously attempted suicide in 2012. Prosecutors argue Carter’s texts pushed him over the edge. She’s being charged with involuntary manslaughter and must be acquitted. Involuntary manslaughter charge is a stretch. Although assisted suicide through coercion is considered a crime in most states, Massachusetts is one of a few where it isn’t. She must be acquitted. Though she’s the posterchild of evil.

Comey(dian) to Testify While Media Lie, Distort and Overreact to This Profound Nothing Burger

Amid and amidst a series of breathless reports about Donald Trump’s administration that have shocked, scared and rocked the Washington Swamp, a new poll suggests a majority of Americans believe there is no evidence he colluded with Russia in the 2016 election. A majority are also doubtful he is going to be impeached. The Hill said that 54 per cent of Americans said they had not seen evidence that persuaded them that that New York tycoon, or his campaign officials, conspired with Moscow in its alleged cyber-meddling in the election. And today’s nothing burger of Jim Comey rereading the statement he already provided will prove absolutely nothing. But don’t tell CNN that. Here is what you should know.
