Devin Nunes is at a loss for words when it comes to the DOJ, who are literally REFUSING to tell anyone how the Trump “Russia with-hunt” got started.

Nunes said “it’s CRAZY, the DOJ has defied demands….”
This shows how deep is the Deep State really is.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes said Sunday that it is ‘crazy’ the Justice Department has so far defied his demands for them to produce an unredacted version of the two-page document used to formally begin the federal investigation into alleged collusion between Russia and Trump campaign.

“They’re the ones that open an investigation into a presidential campaign using our counterintelligence capabilities. So this in and of itself was unprecedented, it’s crazy, the American people know it’s crazy,” the California Republican said on Fox News early Sunday morning. “And the longer that they block this from us, I think the more the American people are going to become frustrated, and it’s going to look badly on the Department of Justice and the FBI.”

Nunes sent a letter last week to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding an uncensored copy of the document, which has been the subject of much controversy. After some Republicans alleged that the FBI used never-verified parts of the “Trump dossier” as part of its reason to begin the investigation in July 2016, some “current and former” officials leaked to the New York Times that it was instead the case of George Papadopoulos, reported to U.S. authorities by foreign intelligence agents, that prompted the FBI investigation.

Part of the need to see that two-page electronic communication, Nunes explained, is for Congress to be able to “verify” if what was leaked to the Times was true and to see if there is still anything else to the story that hasn’t come to light yet.

The Justice Department rebuffed Nunes’ request in a letter Friday. Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd said his agency has sought to act in a “manner consistent with relevant legal precedents.”

But Boyd did offer an olive branch of sorts, saying the DOJ and FBI will make an “extraordinary accommodation” to the House Intelligence Committee by allowing all of its members access to review Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act applications and renewals. That offer is also being extended to the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Nunes said Sunday that this was a “nice” gesture, but that it “doesn’t really make a lot of sense because this is something that should have been done a long time ago.”

Technically there is still time for the DOJ and FBI to adhere to Nunes’ demands, since he set a deadline of April 11.
“Be advised that failure to comply in a satisfactory manner will result in the committee pursuing all appropriate legal remedies, including seeking civil enforcement of the August 24 subpoenas in federal district court,” Nunes warned in his letter last week.

Earlier this year, the Republican majority in Nunes’ committee secured the public release of their memo on alleged FISA surveillance abuses regarding the authority to spy on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The Democrats on the panel devised their own rebuttal memo after the so-called “Nunes memo” was released without redactions. They argued that without proper context from underlying documents, the GOP memo would be misleading. The Democratic memo was also eventually released to the public, but with redactions.
