Evil Incarnate: The Vile and Loathsome Immorality of the 2024 Demoncrats

President Biden criticized the Supreme Court’s decision on Monday to grant former President Donald Trump absolute immunity from prosecution for “official acts” during his presidency, asserting that voters deserve a quicker resolution for his potential election opponent. Speaking from the Cross Hall, Biden addressed the nation for about four minutes, closely reading from teleprompters before leaving as reporters questioned him about his debate performance against Trump.

One reporter loudly asked Biden if he would drop out of the race, while another questioned his confidence in his candidacy. Biden’s impromptu address was seen as an effort to demonstrate his leadership amid calls from some Democrats for him to step aside.

Biden emphasized the importance of resolving Trump’s legal issues before the upcoming election. “The man who sent that mob to the US Capitol is facing potential criminal conviction for what happened that day and the American people deserve to have an answer in the courts before the upcoming election,” he said, stressing the public’s right to know the facts about January 6 before voting.

He expressed disappointment with the Supreme Court’s ruling, describing it as a “terrible disservice” to the nation and urging the American people to judge Trump’s actions themselves. “The American people have to render a judgment about Donald Trump’s behavior,” Biden said. “They must decide whether Donald Trump’s assault on our democracy on January 6 makes him unfit for public office.”

Trump celebrated the ruling as a “big win for democracy,” while a Biden campaign official likened it to giving Trump “the keys to a dictatorship.” The Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision did not address whether Trump’s actions during the 2020 election interference allegations constituted “official acts,” leaving this to lower courts to decide. Both a US district court and the DC Circuit Court of Appeals had previously rejected Trump’s immunity claims.

Following the debate, Biden spent much of Monday at Camp David with his family, contemplating his next steps. A CBS News poll indicated that 45% of Democrats want Biden to step aside, and the New York Times editorial board recently suggested that the president should allow the party to choose another candidate.
