George Carlin: Mark Twain Prize for American Humor – 2008 (1 of 8)

On June 18, 2008, four days before his death, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC announced that Carlin would be the 2008 honoree of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which was awarded on November 10, 2008. Carlin thus became the award’s first posthumous recipient, a decision the Kennedy Center made after consulting with both Carlin’s family and PBS (which aired the ceremony). ^Source en.wikipedia.org

  3. Yeah, ******** ripoff artist and talentless ***********. From the “If-I’m-loud-and-swear-a-lot-I’ll-be-funny” school of comedy. Low-rent, loudmouth *****. And he’s from Boston, so he’s an ******** x 2.

  4. Truth of the matter is, Dennis MILLER probably should have been here before Dennis LEARY. Miller interviewed the man on his show and was an adoring fan, himself.

I suspect that perhaps the political leanings of the organizers kept Miller from being invited, though (yes, folks, Liberals can be schmucks, as well).

  5. This guy makes Chevy Chase look like the utimate comedian of all time.

Every time I hear George I fall asleep, what a ******** BORE!

Now go and rethink what funny is, as ssmaahht as you think u r.

wizewd on your mom by accident sorry bro I think she liked it.

  6. Denis Leary? Come on. Why not just put Bill Hicks corpse on stage? im sure it would ahve been funnier.

  7. God, that guy could enunciate the most amazing combination of words perfectly. Just absolutely amazing.

  8. Carlin would never have had Bill Maher introduce him, fawning over the President, i have the impression that Carlin didn’t care much for him.

  9. um no, it wasnt a cool observation

there was nothing there but a rough camera transition

with Rupert Murdoch & Ted Turn

  11. Bill Maher…******** zionist, biased piece of *****. He’s not even funny…and he’s not smart. He’s ******** stupid.

  12. I agree. However, Miller hasn’t been funny for years, and that’s not a statement on his politics.
