I Wonder If You Know

“I Wonder If You Know” by Jonathan Kohn © 2011 This is my performance of a love poem I wrote. I hope you enjoy it. The words are bellow for those who would like a copy. I wonder if you know that Knights in shining armor get broken hearts, too. And that Cavemen also cry. That the romantic dreams of Shakespeares in love tend to shrivel up and die. I wonder if you know that Princes do not long for a sleeping beauty or a damsel in Distress They desire something real, someone faithful, not just a work in progress. I wonder if you know That working out never makes men strong enough to endure The sting of hearing “let’s just be friends,” without the hope of something more. I wonder if you know that Bell Boys carry more baggage than hotel guests That cowboys and Indians really fought over love and not something as trivial as the wild wild west I wonder if you know That superman only wore tights because Lois Lane thought that they were cute And that Peter Parker could not face rejection and so he made himself a spidie suit. I wonder if you know That even Albert Einstein could not calculate the power of love completely And John Lennon could only Imagine the depth of what the Beatles sang about so sweetly I wonder if you know that you are the shining armor to my knightliness that you are the cave to my brutish nature you are the muse to my poetry I wonder if you know that you are the workout to my laziness that you are the princess who is awake, who is real , who is ready you are
