Just as former President Barack Obama crawled out of “Spygate” to claim that he “didn’t have scandals,” unlike the current administration, President Donald Trump utterly humiliated his lying predecessor with 8 brilliant words.
On Wednesday, former President Barack Obama once again showcased his arrogance and hypocrisy when claiming at a tech conference in Las Vegas that he “didn’t have scandals” during his 8 years in the White House, Newsweek reports.
Deliberately ignoring his lengthy list of federal offenses, including using the IRS to target conservatives, “gun-walking” in Operation Fast and Furious, and, most recently, Spygate, he pompously lashed out at Trump in an effort to elevate his presidency.
“I didn’t have scandals, which seems like it shouldn’t be something you brag about,” Obama joked. “But actually,” he added, “if you look at the history of the modern presidency, coming out of the modern presidency without anybody going to jail is really good. It’s a big deal.”
According to Obama, the reason his presidency was relatively controversy-free, he said, was because he was accepting of bad news. “No one in my White House ever got in trouble for screwing up as long there wasn’t malicious intent behind it,” he claimed.
Obama has often patted himself on the back, repeatedly stating that he has never suffered controversy during his presidency and going as far as to boast that he had “the most transparent administration” in U.S. history. Of course, while Americans still feel the devastating effects of skyrocketing premiums through the Obamacare mandate, the current commander-in-chief has not only provided economic relief, he’s also making sure that his smug predecessor doesn’t forget his past wrongs.While delivering the commencement speech at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, on Friday, President Donald Trump reminded the crowd of cheering graduates that, unlike Barack Obama, “We are not going to apologize for America.” Instead, Trump promised that his administration will “stand up for America,” guaranteeing that there will be no “apology tour” during his presidency.
“A growing number use their platforms to denigrate America’s incredible heritage, challenge America’s sovereignty, and weaken America’s pride,” Trump said as he addressed the audience. “But we know the truth, we will speak the truth, and we will defend that truth. America is the greatest fighting force for peace, justice, and freedom in the history of the world,” he added.
“And, in case you haven’t noticed, we have become a lot stronger lately — a lot. We are not going to apologize for America,” the president declared. “We are going to stand up for America. No more apologies. We are going to stand up for our citizens, we are going to stand up for our values, and we are going to stand up for our men and women in uniform because we know that a nation must have pride in its history to have confidence in its future.”
The veiled yet patriotic blow comes just days after Hillary Clinton gave a controversial and cringe-worthy commencement speech at Yale, in which she utilized the graduation ceremony to whine about her 2016 presidential loss and berate President Donald Trump.
“I see, looking out at you, that you are following the tradition of over-the-top hats. So I brought a hat, too,” Hillary told her audience. “A Russian hat,” she said. “No, I’m not over it,” she added. “I still think about the 2016 election, I still regret the mistakes I made.”
Not only is the Obama administration packed to the brim with sore losers, they simply lack the capacity to understand exactly how they continue to drive away their supporters. While no presidency is without its scandals, President Donald Trump daily proves that no matter how the opposing side attacks him, he isn’t backing down.
