First Lady Melania Trump returned to the White House on Saturday morning after spending five days at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. You’d think liberals would have had the decency to wish her a speedy and restful recovery after her embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition, but instead, they began attacking Melania over what she did immediately after slipping out of the hospital. This will make your blood boil.

After Melania had safely made it back to the White House, her office publicly confirmed her release from the hospital and provided an update on her condition. “The first lady returned home to the White House this morning. She is resting comfortably and remains in high spirits,” Melania’s communications director Stephanie Grisham announced. “Our office has received thousands of calls and emails wishing Mrs. Trump well, and we thank everyone who has taken the time to reach out.”

Apparently, however, this was not good enough for some inquiring minds who wanted to know “what really happened,” insinuating that, perhaps, Melania was hiding something and had not been entirely forthcoming about her health scare. Grisham was pressed for more information, specifically on Melania’s condition and why she was hospitalized for five nights following a relatively routine procedure, but she refused to cave to media trolls.

“Every patient is different,” Grisham told CNN. “The medical professionals who have been giving opinions to the media based on one statement are uninformed. Mrs. Trump has a medical team that is comfortable with her care, which is all that matters. Her recovery and privacy are paramount, and I will have no further comment beyond this. Anyone else who chooses to speak with the media will only be speculating.”
The medical professionals Grisham was referring to were highlighted in a report by CNN published on Friday. The physicians CNN referenced — none of whom had actually treated the first lady — speculated that the length of time she had stayed in the hospital for a typically outpatient procedure indicated that the issue was more severe than the public was led to believe.

Dr. Mohamad Allaf, vice chairman of urology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, said the length of Melania’s hospitalization was “somewhat atypical,” stating, “Certainly, staying a little longer may imply that this is a little bit more of a complex situation.”
In similar fashion, Dr. Gregory Bernstein, a urologist and former military physician, said he’s gotten “a lot of questions about the length of the first lady’s hospital stay.” He speculated Melania’s case could have been more complicated. “Everyone’s pain threshold is a little different. An embolization is pretty painful regardless. Think about it. You are cutting off the blood supply to tissue in the body, which cuts off oxygen, which causes tissue to die, and that can be pretty painful,” said Bernstein.

Of course, it was incredibly irresponsible for these so-called “medical professionals” to speculate on the health of someone as high-profile as the first lady without having any first-hand knowledge of her situation. None of them had ever treated her. None of them had ever seen any of her medical records. Yet CNN trotted them out and touted their opinions as “truth” put forward by the “experts.” It’s shameful. Sadly, this is what passes for journalism these days.
