Wisconsin Senator Lena Taylor is was again up to her usual classless shenanigans.
Taylor, who is known for her outbursts, racial slurs, and for thinking the law doesn’t apply to her, was cited last week for disorderly conduct for allegedly berating a bank teller.
Reports are confirming that his time around the prima donna decided to call a Wells Fargo bank teller a “House N###er” because he couldn’t cash a check because of lack of funds.
The check she was trying to cash was written to herself for the amount of $831 dollars but apparently, she didn’t have enough money in her bank account to cover it so she decided to take it out on the teller. The authorities were called and Taylor was then given a civil citation by a Milwaukee police officer on the scene.
A spokesperson for the Milwaukee police department has made no comment on the incident but it was later reported the citation was being “reviewed.”
This isn’t the first time the senator has had issues. Back in 2009, she berated Milwaukee police officers who ticketed her for jaywalking at a busy intersection. The citing police officer said Taylor told officers “we ‘shouldn’t waste our energy for the stop and she can’t be expected to wait for the light.’ Taylor was very argumentative and appeared her intent was to provoke an argument with us officers.” Soon afterward, the ticket was rescinded by a captain but was later reinstated by then-Chief Edward Flynn, and Taylor was forced to pay the $122 fine.
She also had choice words to say about conservative Sheriff David Clarke when he announced his retirement, “This is truly a good Thursday. I want to thank Sheriff Clarke for his decision to step down. After years of abuse at his hands, the people of Milwaukee can sleep soundly tonight.”
But I’m sure her district will keep reelecting her, just like Maxine Waters will keep getting reelected in Southern California.
Apparently, Senator Taylor has some serious emotional issues via Journal Sentinel:
“MADISON – At a time when Milwaukee Sen. Lena Taylor is casting key budget votes on state taxes and spending, turnover has left her staff in turmoil.
Since mid-January, more than a half-dozen workers on Taylor’s small staff have either left her office, went on leave or both, according to personnel records and sources.
Amid that turbulence, Taylor is serving as one of just two Democratic senators on the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee, which is currently going item by item through Gov. Scott Walker’s two-year, $76 billion budget.
Even with a full staff, that’s an enormous task for a lawmaker. Taylor insists she and her office are handling it in spite of the turnover.
“I’m getting the work done and I’m going to continue to do that,” Taylor said in a recent interview, adding later, “I’m not missing a beat.”
Taylor has long been known for working quickly through staff, though she has had some longtime employees such as former chief of staff and current Milwaukee County lobbyist Eric Peterson. But even for Taylor, the recent stream of changes is noteworthy.
Jessica Ford Kelly, for instance, served for years as a chief of staff and aide to former Sen. Julie Lassa, who lost a re-election bid in November. But Kelly worked only 2 1/2 months as a legislative assistant for Taylor — from Jan. 30 to April 16 — before taking a job with the state Department of Health Services.
The dates of the job changes were confirmed by Senate Chief Clerk Jeff Renk and by a Health Services spokeswoman.
Taylor said she couldn’t fully speak to the revolving door of staffers in her office because some of the changes were leaves, which typically involve private matters such as medical issues. But the senator acknowledged that she’s a fighter who’s unafraid of delivering criticism to anyone she feels is in need of it.
“In the end, this is what I know: I’m passionate about my constituents … and I’m demanding for my constituents,” said Taylor, who’s served on the budget committee before.
Taylor said that she also has more turnover because she uses her budget to hire more workers at lower salaries, part of a strategy to give opportunities to as many people as possible. But at least two of the workers leaving her office made nearly $80,000 a year in their jobs.
As a member of the Joint Finance panel, Taylor needs to coordinate with other Democratic senators and prepare intensively with her staff for daylong budget sessions, where lengthy debate can without warning shift into rapid-fire votes on an array of state programs. Even veteran state officials and observers can get lost in the maze of motions and briefing papers.
