The National Rifle Association (NRA) enjoyed it’s annual convention last weekend in Dallas and one photograph from the event has so many parents freaking out. What was meant to be a cute photograph of a child playing with an item featured at the convention has turned into an apocalyptic parental debate that has people completely losing their minds. President Trump and Vice President Pence both spoke at the convention, lots of people went in and out, and it seemed to be an enjoyable event for all. Of course, something had to go wrong and it wasn’t anything to do with criminal activity or anything bad – it was just a photograph and so many people couldn’t handle it.

So many people are undecided about how they feel about the picture, so they’re engaging in a neverending argument that simply has no end because there are always people who just won’t agree on certain topics. This picture sparked debates about child safety, age-appropriate activities, and of course, there were a few people completely off the hinges who believed and stated that the NRA shouldn’t exist. A quick fact – the NRA is well known for promoting extreme caution and safety, and they don’t condone any irresponsible behavior.

The story was posted on a website called “Scary Mommy” and it showed the picture of the boy playing with an item at the NRA convention, then the ensuing replies that followed. Keep in mind, this was only some of the replies they endured or reported, but there were many more just like it. The boy says his name is Maverick as he talks to Kendall Jones in the video below. She’s well known for being a cheerleader and young hunter.

Here’s a quick video showing where the picture likely originated from as Maverick talks to Kendall Jones.
Some people spoke about the safety concerns and how to handle it while being respectful and responsible. They also mention that the NRA specifically teaches safety and for children to get an adult if they come across one.

Some others weren’t so thrilled about the picture and they went into full breakdown mode. They were losing their mind and posting the most ridiculous things on Twitter.

Below are a few samples of the people freaking out after seeing the picture of the 4-year-old at the NRA convention.
Some people were appalled that a child was at the NRA convention. These are the same people who criticize everything that the NRA does, no matter how right or wrong it might seem to be. The NRA faces so much criticism each time a crime is committed, but the truth is that the NRA has nothing to do with any of the unfortunate events that take place thanks to the actions of those who wish to do harm upon others.

The Parkland incident was very sad, horrible, and unfortunate. However, it soon spiraled into an anti-2A circus with teenagers moving from eating Tide Pods to thinking they’re experts on constitutional amendments.

There’s a large difference between parents who teach their children appropriate handling and those who simply fail to address the situation. If anything is to be taught from this picture and video, it’s that the child should understand how to appropriately handle and act responsibly when they’re in the presence of.

The country needs to remember that most owners are responsible and statistically speaking there might be some irresponsible people out there. However, there is no need to blame the NRA on anything, nor is there any reason for people to be an anti-second amendment.

The right to bear arms is a wonderful thing and when it’s done responsibly, it allows families to protect themselves and it equalizes the playing field against those who refuse to follow the law.

Remember, the last tie there was a grab for arms was when a man named Adolf Hitler had his soldiers participate in a massive confiscation. What happened next was one of the worst incidents in modern day history as Jewish people were persecuted.

How does the picture make you feel? Do you think that it’s harmless because the NRA convention is most likely very safe? Or do you think the boy should not be touching the item and handling it in that way since it’s not particularly good housekeeping?
