In a tale of discovery, adventure and magic, join David Attenborough on a journey through the world-famous Natural History Museum in London
As the doors are locked and night falls, Attenborough meets the extinct creatures that fascinate him the most, as they magically come alive in front of his eyes.
This 90 minute 3D spectacular, with its ground-breaking CGI technology, is a special collaboration of experts and curators from the Natural History Museum.
I’ve been coming here since I was a boy of 8 and it’s one of the holiest of holies — one of the great places for natural history. I didn’t visit the museum very often, Leicester, where I lived, was 100 miles away from London, so coming here was quite a journey. Each time was an astonishment — just looking at cases full of electric blue butterflies is enough to impress a child — enough to impress me anyway.
CGI has reached a peak of perfection and some of the people responsible for reaching that peak is involved in this project. It doesn’t look like a cartoon — it simply looks real.
It did occur to me standing on the top floor of the central hall you’ve got this enormous space, like a cathedral, which gives you this sense of distance — an ideal place for computer-generated images to waltz around the space.
