‘Surrender Bins’ Being Installed Now Everywhere And Is Immediately Found To Be A Deadly Failure

There’s no question that something needs to be done about the violence problem that we face in America today; the question is, what? That debate was sent into hyperdrive by the school shooting in Parkland Florida in February. That shooting cause the deaths of 14 students and three teachers.
Because a gun was used to perpetuate that, and other terrible shootings, the subject of gun control has been at the forefront of every political debate for the past weeks. According to the left, if we lower the number of guns available, we will lower the number of deaths by guns.
However, there are several issues with that theory. The first is that it’s not just a theory since it’s been carried out in cultures in the past, as well as happening in the present overseas.
The gun control laws are much stricter in the UK, and their crime problem hasn’t gone away and a utopian type existence emerged, as the left insists will happen here. In fact, the BBC announced recently that they would now be attempting to retrieve all the knives they can since the recent attacks in Europe have been carried out using blades instead of bullets:
“Police have confirmed a knife surrender planned for Birmingham will start later this month.
The scheme will be similar to a knife amnesty but will mean permanent drop-off points will be located in community centres and public spaces.
The plans follow the conviction of a 17-year-old for the stabbing of Hassan Mahmood in Yardley in July.
West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Bob Jones said he would announce the locations shortly.
Mr Jones said he was negotiating to get three drop-off points which would be open for at least six months.
‘We are hoping to have more than that,’ he said.
There were two more stabbings in Birmingham last week, including one in Handsworth, where a man in his 50s died, and another in Handsworth Wood. A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder.
Coun Waseem Zaffar, chair of Birmingham City Council’s community safety committee and councillor for Lozells and East Handsworth, said: “My ward has far too many knife incidents. Hopefully this will help.’
He added: ‘I still think we need to do more in our schools and youth centres to educate people not to carry knives.’
Det Ch Insp Simon Wallis, from West Midlands Police, said ‘We can’t accept any level of knife crime.’
‘We need to redouble our efforts around this agenda.’”
Their plan was put into effect just days ago, and the BBC once again reported that their plan was to retrieve knives, because of the recent stabbings that have been spreading across the area. Unlike what the left would have you believe; getting rid of guns didn’t get rid of their violence problem, because they still have violent people:
“Three secure metal bins where people can dispose of weapons have been set up across the city.
It follows several stabbings in the city last year.
A knife surrender differs from an amnesty in that there is no temporary suspension of laws against carrying a knife.
The bins can be found at:
New Testament Church Of God, New Spring Street, Hockley
New Testament Church Of God, Lozells Road, Birmingham
New Testament Church of God, Goosemore Lane, Erdington
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for the West Midlands, Bob Jones, announced the plans last October.
Police figures showed that in 2012-13 there were 1,615 knife-related incidents in the city, although police said over the past six years knife crime had fallen by 63% across the force area.
The force said there were plans for more knife disposal bins ‘in the near future’ and there was ‘no fixed duration for the initiative’.
Mr. Jones said: ‘Our communities have told us that they want an end to knife crime and that they want to work with us to make that happen’.”
The goal here seems to be to gather up as many weapon type items as possible, in hopes of ending the violence problem in their area. However, as many gun proponents have often stated; this doesn’t get rid of the guns that are in the hands of the violent or criminals, it only disarms those who have no plans to use these items.
Those who believe that gathering up weapons will get rid of violence should take a look at how much violence takes place in prison. There’s hardly any place on earth that takes more care to ensure that the residents don’t have any weapons, or weapon type items, however, anything and everything can be used to stab someone if you really want to bad enough.
This is not a tool efficiency problem, it’s a heart problem. The sooner the people realize that the less likely we are to have destroyed our chance to protect ourselves from a potentially oppressive government.
