An out-of-place artifact (OOPArt) is an artifact of historical, archaeological, or paleontological interest found in an unusual context, that challenges conventional historical chronology by being “too advanced” for the level of civilization that existed at the time, or showing “human presence” before humans were known to exist. Other examples suggest contact between different cultures that are hard to account for with conventional historical understanding.

The processes and technologies involved in the creation of these ancient megaliths are still not fully understood by today’s scholars. Though conventional history generally attributes these works to known civilizations, the evidence suggests that they were, in fact, made by much older civilizations. Since these works still defy explanation, historians continue to regurgitate what they were taught and ignore the evidence staring them in the face. Due to the difficulty of carving basanite these objects could not be made today even with modern technology. And how did they carve deep, detailed designs in granite, etc.? The mystery is so perplexing that many people have assumed the objects were made by aliens.

The temple of Angkor Wat, the Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge, and the famous statues on Easter Island were all built without the conveniences of modern technology. Ancient peoples didn’t have access to forklifts, hydraulic cranes, or flatbed trucks. So how did they build the temples and statues that we admire today?
