This was a senior project at Digipen Institute of Technology and was created by Mike Smith, Cody Boone Flynn, and Arthur Beausoleil and with the help, support, and inspiration of countless others. Using 3ds Max and After Effects, we have created a moving painting of a tree on a hill going through night and day and through the seasons, similar to (and inspired by) time-lapse photography. We were also inspired by painters like Van Gogh, Monet, Seurat and many more, and this animation uses colorful particle effects to evoke an impressionist painting. We wanted it to be constantly churning with color and change, while the subject and composition remain constant. The animation loops after two and a half minutes, yet it does not really have a beginning or end, just the self imposed limits of presenting it in a youtube player. It is meant to loop continuously in a gallery. music is The Four Seasons, Summer by Antonio Vivaldi. Performed by: John Harrison — Violin / Robert Turizziani — Conductor / Wichita State University Chamber Players recorded at Wiedemann Recital Hall, Wichita State University downloaded from Wikimedia Commons 8
