How Did Humans Become Intelligent?

Do you ever just sit there looking at a horse and think, why am…

I smarter than you horse? The brain consumes more energy than any other tissue of equivalent size in the human body. For human brains to grow and intelligence to develop, there had to be an evolutionary cause or reason behind this change. So what was it? Evolution can occur in one of two ways; microevolution, which involves lots of tiny changes over a long time, or macroevolution, whereby huge sudden changes occur very quickly. In the 1970’s Psychologist Julian Jaynes became fascinated by the idea of how human consciousness came to exist. The social brain hypothesis states that human intelligence arose in order to help us survive in large and complicated social groups.

fiction, but with countries and companies competing to get us off this planet like there’s a bad smell or something, mankind’s first steps towards multi-planetary status may come sooner rather than later. Before we consider the rights and wrongs of establishing human settlements throughout the solar system and beyond, we must first figure out why mankind may wish to do such a thing. Let’s say technology progresses to the point where we get to choose from a number of worlds. Do we go for a barren, rocky world and terraform the heck out of it?Let’s imagine that the human race eventually develops the ability to inhabit multiple star systems.Australia has given the world Wolverine, The Joker, Thor, The Hulk and The Crocodile Hunter. And it managed to do all this despite being used as a place to dump Britain’s criminals in the 19th Century.

Has Mankind Conquered Extinction?

think the human race was lucky to wake up this morning. Meteor strikes, rogue pathogens, supervolcanoes, shark tornadoes; all of these should have been the end of us by now, shouldn’t they? Perhaps not, because according to one school of thought, mankind might have already conquered extinction. The theories of the Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter are most commonly discussed in the context of the apparent absence of alien life in the universe. If reproductive molecules, single-celled life and complex single-celled life had never developed on Earth, then it’s unlikely humanity would have ever existed to begin with.3.5 billion years ago Earth witnessed the formation of Prokaryotes – simple, single-celled life lacking in a membrane-bound nucleus, mitochondria or table manners.Today, we Homo Sapiens rule the planet; we make stuff, we burn other stuff, and we can pretty much eat and pet any animals we want. Before all the monkey love, Homo Sapiens were already more adaptable and capable of higher endurance than Neanderthals and Denisovans.

How Would We Respond To An Alien Invasion?

If aliens invaded Earth, would it go down like in the movies?

The first thing we must consider in trying to evaluate how mankind might respond to an alien invasion is to imagine what their capabilities might be. An alien invasion of Earth has the potential to bring mankind together like nothing before. While the world’s military is busy polishing its guns and making sure its warheads are all in top-top condition, what will the rest of Earth be doing as we wait for the aliens to arrive? The way individual humans react to the alien threat depends on how we perceive they’ll treat us should they win; which they almost certainly will.

including Elon Musk, are spending billions of dollars trying to prove that humanity exists inside a simulated reality. But what about going the other way? Can we prove that our reality is real? Theoretical physicist Brian Greene believes that if we live inside a simulated reality, our best bet of proving this is by looking for glitches. The idea of our race existing inside a simulated reality is based mostly on the assumption that one day mankind will be able to do the same.Another piece of simulated universe evidence posed by Brian Greene and Neil deGrasse Tyson is the problem of the Big Bang. What might the purpose of our simulated reality be? If we can answer this question, we should be able to take action to prove whether we’re in one or not.
