However, there have been as-yet unverified claims that an Indonesian man may have recently passed away at the age of 146.The Kardashev Scale is a way of measuring a civilization’s technological abilities based on the amount of energy they can harness. Modern humans are at 0.73 on this scale, and experts have predicted that Type 1 status will be achieved within 150 to 200 years.In 1996 Google was a garage-based research project conducted by founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and today it facilitates over 1.2 trillion search queries per year; but by the year 2300 they hope to go even further. Plastic bags have been used for about sixty years, but unless we find a way to break them down, this garbage will continue to pollute the Earth for at least five hundred years more. The world’s leading linguists believe that within 1,000 years every language currently spoken on Earth will be vastly different.

Until 2012 Antarctica’s Lake Vostok was quarantined from the world for 15million years, thanks to a four kilometre layer of surface ice. If you’re on Google Earth you’re probably using it either to find your own house or track down a bizarre object no-one else has discovered. Another famous Antarctic mystery is the frozen Pyramid, which some people believe to have been constructed by a race of ancient Antarcticans. Was Antarctica once a habitable place where a hidden race of humans existed in previously undiscovered cities? Antarctica was the last large region on Earth to be discovered and settled by human beings, with its first recorded sighting attributed to a Russian expedition in 1820, and the first confirmed landing in 1895.

So what evidence for this have we actually discovered? In 2013 the Curiosity rover detected many of the key chemical ingredients for life in the Martian soil.In 2014 the British microbiologist Professor Milton Wainwright claimed to have discovered evidence of life in Earth’s stratosphere, and he says this organism could not have come from our planet.Take a look at this neat little guy. This is a methane ice worm discovered in Mexico back in 1997. As its name suggests, this organism lives inside methane ice which has been pushed up from the sea floor.
