Are emergency rooms safe? Some may not be for its doctors and nurses. A recent global survey of healthcare workers found that 73 percent of workers in critical care report experiencing violence in the past year, and a quarter of them are willing to leave their jobs because of it. In a new Opinion Video, hospital staff argue violent attacks at work are keeping them from doing the job they love. ā€œIā€™m here to care for you, not to be your punching bag,ā€ Amal Hussein, a hospital employee, said.
