Donald Trump loves breaking the rules.
Our President, more than any man we’ve seen, is true to himself and is often compelled to say do what’s on his mind, consequences be damned.
That’s exactly what he did the other day: while in his home state of New York, Trump noticed a special man in the crowd with his colleagues.
Then he did something no president ever does… he dashed away from his Secret Service entourage and literally ran toward one particular individual. When he got close, he extended his hand.
It was one of the police officers in attendance and it was an amazing, touching gesture, as the Gateway Pundit reported:
“Trump abruptly turned and broke ranks with his aides and Secret Service detail and ran, or as best a 71-year-old man can run, a short jog and then swiftly walked the rest of the way over to the assembled police where he shook their hands and returned a salute from one of the officers.”
The video was posted by Assistant to the President Dan Scavino, Jr., and it shows POTUS warmly thanking each of the police officers for their service to their cities and country.
And you know, this is hardly the first time our President has shown such fantastic character. Heck, it wasn’t even the first time that day!
Earlier, Trump had mingled with a group of New York firefighters as well, and later he posted on Twitter:
“Thank you to all of the incredible law enforcement officers and firefighters in Bethpage, New York. Keep up the great work!”
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders Tweeted as well, and hers was a poignant note of praise for the President:
Yes, that’s how the leader of a country should act. And we have just one question for all the leftists out there:
In eight long years, did you ever see Barack Obama do anything like this? Ever?
