President Donald Trump recently appeared at a rally in Elkhart, Indiana where he left the crowd roaring after he stepped up, put his hand over his heart, and dropped a line that would make any liberal sob. You won’t want to miss this.

According to Daily Caller, Trump urged his supporters to send Republican Senate challenger Mike Braun to Washington during a rally Thursday at a packed school gymnasium in Elkhart. Braun is challenging Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly in a race that is expected to help determine which party controls the Senate next year.

Trump’s visit to Indiana was planned long in advance after he promised in 2017 to campaign against Donnelly “like you wouldn’t” after he failed to show support for the President’s tax cuts bill. Trump made good on that promise on Thursday by bashing Donnelly nearly 11 miles from Donnelly’s home in Granger.
Trump lashed out at Donnelly when he said, “You think you have their vote.” He continued to rail Indiana Democrats by saying, “But they always raise their hand for the radical left of Nancy Pelosi.” Trump also warned the crowd that if Donnelly and the Democrats retake the Senate, they will “raise your taxes, they will destroy your jobs, and they are going to knock the hell out of your borders.”

Trump went on to tell his supporters that the upcoming midterm election was of the utmost importance. “This November, Indiana will face an important choice,” he added. “You can send a really incredible swamp person back to the Senate, like Joe Donnelly, or you can send us Republicans like Mike Braun to drain the swamp.” The crowd went wild and started to chant, “Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!”

According to Fox News, the President then mocked Donnelly, calling him “Sleepin’ Joe” and making reference to Donnelly’s sedentary political life with few achievements. Republican National Committee spokesman Michael Joyce echoed the President’s remarks about Donnelly saying, “President Trump made it crystal clear this evening…that Do-Nothing Democrat Joe Donnelly has not represented Hoosier values.”
Trump then handed the mic over to Braun as he said, “How about we let Mike for a second interrupt my speech?” Trump said. “Is that OK?” Braun enthusiastically thanked the President and said that his half-hour ride with Trump in the motorcade from the airport to the event was “one of the neatest experiences of my life.”

Braun told the crowd that his decision to run against Donnelly was inspired by Trump’s big win in 2016. “I’m a businessman and outsider just like our president,” he said. “And you can count on me to be a true reinforcement and the guy that is going to retire Joe Donnelly.”

Trump also praised the state that gave him the Republican presidential nomination and his vice president. The President emphasized his friendship with former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight and talked about the Indy 500 before praising Indiana for giving America Notre Dame football.
Trump mentioned that he was encouraged to cancel the Elkhart rally after not returning to the White House until 4:30 a.m. due to his late evening at Andrews Air Force Base where he and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed home three American men who had been held prisoner by North Korea. “I said, You just don’t know the people of Indiana. I don’t have the courage to cancel.”

Trump then had some strong words of support for our American flag and the national anthem. “We proudly stand, because we love that sound, we stand for our national anthem at all times,” Trump continued. “Never believe that your Second Amendment is not under siege. We believe that a strong nation must have strong borders. We have pride in our history and respect for our great American flag,” Trump added.
As the auditorium roared with cheers and a chant of “USA! USA!” Trump paused and took a step away from the podium and then he stepped back up, placed his hand over his heart and dropped a line that will have every liberal cringing. “And we put our large, beautiful hands on our hearts for the Pledge of Allegiance. And we proudly stand, all the time we stand, because we love that sound, we stand for our national anthem at all times,” the president said.

The crowd cheered President Donald Trump for his patriotic remarks and rightfully so. Trump’s patriotic attitude and love for our country is a welcome change to the years under the Barack Obama administration where American values were trampled on repeatedly. In my opinion, Trump is exactly what our country needs for another four years after his first term is up.
