U.S. delays tariffs on some Chinese imports until December 15th

The U.S. is delaying tariffs on some Chinese imports until December 15th. The Trump administration made the announcement Tuesday, citing health, safety, national security and other factors. Products affected include cell phones, laptops, and video game consoles. A planned 10-percent tariff on all other items will go into effect on September 1st.

This comes as Robert Lighthizer and Steve Mnuchin are set to speak with top Chinese trade officials in two weeks after speaking with them via telephone Tuesday. One America’s Emerald Robinson has more from the White House.
