A forest and possibly a relationship go up in smoke in the drama “Wildlife,” the directorial debut of the actor Paul Dano. Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal play a 1960s Montana couple going through turmoil when the husband takes time away from the family to fight a forest fire.
In this scene, Jeanette (Mulligan) takes her son, Joe, (Ed Oxenbould) out to see what his father has been struggling to contain. Dano discusses how he crafted a period film with dramatic fire scenes on an independent feature budget.
