Cindy Garcia is a U.S. citizen whose husband was recently deported back to Mexico. CNN, undoubtedly looking for a sob story about an immigrant who was ripped away from his wife and kids, spoke with Garcia on Tuesday. However, she completely silenced the outlet’s liberal anchor by defending President Donald Trump’s immigration policies on live television.

When the producers over at CNN heard Cindy Garcia’s story, they likely began foaming at the mouth. After all, liberals love to decry President Trump’s immigration policies as “heartless” and “inhumane,” even though cases like that of the Garcia family’s are few and far between compared to the throngs of dangerous criminals being deported.

On Tuesday, CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin spoke with Cindy Garcia, beginning the segment with all sorts of virtue signaling:
Cindy Garcia, whose husband was recently deported to Mexico, shocked CNN on Tuesday by defending President Donald Trump and the rule of law.

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin started the segment by criticizing the Trump administration for separating children from their families and played a clip of the Garcia family crying as their father was being picked up for deportation.

“I am not upset at our government due to the fact that I am a U.S. citizen and that our laws come first. Our laws are just broken and need to be fixed,” said Garcia. “I can’t be mad at Trump for doing his job because that is his job to protect us as U.S. citizens from criminals.”
Cindy Garcia explained that her husband is not a criminal, although some would argue that by crossing the border illegally in the first place, he broke the law, which does, in fact, make him a criminal. Mr. Garcia, however, is not a hardened repeat offender. He was brought to the United States when he was just 10-years-old and had lived here for the last thirty years before his deportation in January.

Mr. Garcia’s story is exactly the type that liberals latch onto in order to demonize the hardline stance on immigration that the Trump administration has taken. But the fact of the matter is that instances like the one the Garcia family finds themselves in are quite rare.

The vast majority of illegal aliens who are being deported do not have spouses and children who are U.S. citizens. For the most part, the illegal aliens who are being deported are a drain on our economy, or worse, career criminals who have spent years in and out of prison at the expense of the American taxpayer.
Incredibly, even though Cindy Garcia’s own husband has been deported, she seems to be able to rationalize this situation better than the folks over at CNN. “For the criminals that have come here illegally, they need to go back,” said Mrs. Garcia, suggesting immigration law be reformed to focus only on the more criminal illegal immigrants.

Baldwin, of course, couldn’t believe her ears. She had featured Cindy’s story on her program as an indictment of the president’s “heartbreaking” immigration policies, yet Garcia was flatly refusing to criticize Trump. “A lot of people would be critical of this administration, and I’m not hearing criticism from you,” Baldwin responded, clearly shocked.
Of course, it shouldn’t exactly be shocking to hear a U.S. citizen agree with U.S. laws. Our nation is the greatest in the world in large part because of its laws. That’s true whether CNN wants to admit it or not.
