Sorry folks, I’m not talking about Norman Reedus, who plays the much loved Daryl Dixon on the popular show The Walking Dead, but this “character” was featured in a recent episode with the television zombie apocalypse superhero. The star with the inspiring true life story is none other than the one-eyed dog that caused a ruckus on the porch when it rattled the makeshift alarm Daryl had placed to warn Beth and him of possible zombie intrusion on Sunday’s episode “Alone.”
The one-eyed pup with the perfect apocalypse appearance, named Dooley, actually lost his eye saving his owner from a carjacking according to the shabby resolution image below, which explains that “The one-eyed dog that set off Daryl’s noise traps had the perfect look for an apocalypse survivor,” adding, “In reality, Dooley lost his eye saving his owner from a carjacker.”
So, although Dooley led to catastrophe in the episode when Daryl wrongly assumed it was the mischievous mutt making noise again and inadvertently opened the door to a flood of walkers, the daring dog is a real life hero. Too bad his real life talents for saving humans didn’t come into play with Beth’s apparent kidnapping.
Dooley’s story was featured in a trivia segment on The Talking Dead. One has to wonder if the carjacker that took the out the pooch’s eye saw the episodes and recognized the family pet that took him down!
