Columbia University President Is Booed at Commencement

For the second day in a row, graduates of Columbia University critical of its administration met the acting president, Claire Shipman, with a chorus of boos during her speech at the main commencement ceremony on Wednesday.

It comes a day after graduates — who lived through campus lockdowns, the arrests of hundreds of students on campus and of Mahmoud Khalil, and a revolving door of university presidents — expressed anger at administrators, including Shipman, during smaller ceremonies.

2 Israeli Embassy Aides Are Killed in Washington

Two young Israeli Embassy aides were shot and killed outside an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night. A suspect shouted “Free, free Palestine” after he was taken into custody, officials said.

The victims, Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and Sarah Milgrim, 26, were about to be engaged, according to Yechiel Leiter, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S.
