Texas and Arizona have officially announced their plans to send troops with the National Guard to the southern border between Mexico and the United States. This is mere days after President Trump had ordered thousands upon thousands of soldiers to be deployed there for the purposes of drug trafficking and illegal immigration prevention.

250 troops will be sent to the border by the Texas National Guard in the next 72 hours. Two Lakota helicopters had already been deployed by the time of this announcement. Also, Arizona’s governor said the state would be sending 150 various troops in the following week.

Brigadier General Tracy Norris, the commanding general of the Texas National Guard, told reporters at a briefing,

“The Texas national guard is preparing to immediately deploy with supporting aircraft, vehicles and equipment to the Texas-Mexico border. This deployment has begun with the movement of equipment and troops today. Within 72 hours the Texas military department will have 250 personnel along with ground surveillance vehicles as well as light and medium aviation platforms.”

Yahoo reported,

“Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced his plans in a tweet. Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis signed an order for “up to 4,000 National Guard personnel to support DHS’s southern border security mission while under the command and control of their respective governors through September 30, 2018,” according to a Department of Defense memo.

The memo set out that troops would not carry out law enforcement activities without the defense secretary’s approval and would be armed only in “circumstances that might require self-defense.”

Mattis and Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said the decision came after their departments “identified security vulnerabilities that could be addressed by the National Guard.”

“Together, the Departments of Homeland Security and Defense are committed to using every lever of power to support the men and women of law enforcement defending our nation’s sovereignty and protecting the American people,” they said in a joint statement. “We will continue to work with the governors to deploy the necessary resources until our nation’s borders are secure.”

Trump had said on Thursday that the final deployment would range from 2,000 to 4,000 troops, and he would “probably” keep many personnel on the border until his promised border wall is built — spelling out a lengthy mission. The move has heightened tensions with Mexico, whose President Enrique Pena Nieto said Trump’s “threatening or disrespectful attitudes” were unjustified.

It has also raised questions about who will fund the mission. The Pentagon could not say where the money would come from and Trump admitted the White House was still “looking at” costs. If 4,000 troops were deployed, that would be about double the current US military presence in Syria and about half as many as the number of US troops in Iraq.

The National Guard has previously been deployed to help patrol the southern border, including in 2010 under former president Barack Obama, and from 2006-2008 under George W. Bush. Both deployments were limited to around a year.”

CNBC reported,

“Deployments to the border under former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama both occurred under Title 32. Bush sent around 6,000 troops in 2006, and Obama sent 1,200 Guard members in 2010.

Trump’s proclamation blamed “the lawlessness that continues at our southern border.” Trump has suggested he wants to use the military on the border until progress is made on his proposed border wall, which has mostly stalled in Congress.

After plunging at the start of Trump’s presidency, the numbers of migrants apprehended at the southwest border have started to rise in line with historical trends. The Border Patrol said it caught around 50,000 people in March, more than three times the number in March 2017. That’s erased a decline for which Trump repeatedly took credit. Border apprehensions still remain well below the numbers when Bush and Obama deployed the Guard to the border.

Jerry Brown’s reputation as California’s longest-serving governor may soon be coming to an end!

According to Newt Gingrich, Brown’s Republican challenger John Cox has a real chance of unseating the corrupt governor in November as Cox is gaining more and more favor in the polls.
John Cox is doing something remarkable for a Republican. A recent survey indicates he is now within striking distance of being elected governor of the infamously liberal state in November.

According to the Public Policy Institute of California, Cox (who I greatly respect and have worked with for years) has been gaining support since January and is now the second-place pick for governor among likely California primary voters. This puts him right behind the leading Democrat and represents a great potential for Cox to win the governorship seven months from now.

The poll result is important because California’s primary system for congressional and statewide elections is unusual.

Instead of running in individual party primaries, all candidates for governor of California – regardless of political party affiliation – will appear on a single ballot June 5. The two candidates who earn the most votes move on to the Nov. 6 gubernatorial election. Washington is the only other state that elects both congressional and state-level candidates this way.
California’s primary setup is a great system for silencing and drowning out political minorities, and it has likely been a big help to California Democrats since it was adopted in 2010. This is why Cox’s polling gains are so important.

In the Public Policy Institute of California survey, Cox earned 14 percent support against the five other primary candidates, as well as options for “someone else” and “don’t know.” This was up from 7 percent support in January. The top Democrat still has a significant lead on Cox, but nearly a quarter of likely voters in California remain undecided.

This race is also important for Republicans across the United States, because having Cox on the election ballot in November will be vital for keeping the Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Republicans currently hold only 14 of California 53 House seats, all of which will be on the ballot this November. Any losses or gains in California could have a serious impact on the ability of Republicans to keep control of the House.

A survey by SmithJohnson Research found that 99.6 percent of California Republicans said they planned to vote in the June primary, with 97 percent reporting they “definitely will vote.”

However, when asked if they would vote in the November election if there were only Democratic candidates for governor on the ballot, only 56.1 percent of these Republican voters responded affirmatively, and only 42.8 percent reported they “definitely will vote.”
If California Republicans do not turn out in force in June and November, the Republican majority and President Trump’s agenda could be in trouble.

Clearly, Californians would benefit from Cox’s conservative leadership. The state is ranked worst for individual income taxes and 48th overall by the Tax Foundation’s 2018 State Business Tax Climate Index.

Cox would work to cut state taxes so that Californians would see more take-home pay and small businesses would be more able to grow, succeed, expand and create more jobs. This includes the hugely unpopular gasoline tax that the Democratic California Legislature and Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown imposed on drivers last year.

The expensive welfare and government dependency programs that California’s liberal leadership has embraced and enacted over the years have also made it the “poverty capital of America,” as Kerry Jackson wrote in a Los Angeles Times op-ed.

Jackson, a fellow of California studies at the Pacific Research Institute, pointed out that duplicative state and local welfare programs in California have resulted in nearly $958 billion in spending from 1992 to 2015. Yet when the cost of living is factored in, California has the highest poverty rate among states in America.

California is home to 12 percent of the national population but about one in three of America’s welfare recipients live in the state. As Jackson puts it: “The generous spending, then, has not only failed to decrease poverty; it actually seems to have made it worse.”

The left is flipping out about right-wing commentator Ann Coulter recent response to President Donald Trump’s recent decision to deploy the National Guard to the U.S./Mexico border. Coulter suggested that President Trump combat the illegal invasion of our Southern border by shooting illegal aliens.

Coulter was speaking to Lars Larson, a right-wing radio host when she stated – “If I were an illegal–I mean, unless they’re going to shoot one and send a message to the rest, as Voltaire’s line in Candide is–‘We hang one to encourage the others’–if you shoot one to encourage the others, maybe they’ll learn, but otherwise, we’ll see, we’ll see.”

Listen.
And queue hysterical screeching from the left…

For example, Reverb Press states of Coulter’s commentary – “There are conservatives in this country that will never be satisfied with the already deranged direction the Republican Party is taking. Being anti-immigrant, anti-woman, anti-science, and anti-Obama isn’t enough for these people. They want harsher stances adapted: stances advocated by deplorables like Ted Nugent, Joe Arpaio, and John Bolton. They want blood.”

It is interesting but where was this outrage when Kate Steinle was killed by an illegal alien for the crime of walking on the beach with her father? Steinle is one of the thousands of Americans who lost her life as a result of open borders policies. Currently, in an attempt to overwhelm U. S. Customs and Border Protection, some 1,000 and 1,500 Central Americans and Mexicans are marching through Mexico toward the U. S. border. The goal is to cross our border by seeking asylum, crossing illegally, or by exploiting the ongoing “catch and release” policy.

Buzzfeed reported as of March 31, 2018 –

“For five days now hundreds of Central Americans — children, women, and men, most of them from Honduras — have boldly crossed immigration checkpoints, military bases, and police in a desperate, sometimes chaotic march toward the United States. Despite their being in Mexico without authorization, no one has made any effort to stop them.

Organized by a group of volunteers called Pueblos Sin Fronteras, or People Without Borders, the caravan is intended to help migrants safely reach the United States, bypassing not only authorities who would seek to deport them, but gangs and cartels who are known to assault vulnerable migrants.
Organizers like Rodrigo Abeja hope that the sheer size of the crowd will give immigration authorities and criminals pause before trying to stop them.

. . . . When they get to the US, they hope American authorities will grant them asylum or, for some, be absent when they attempt to cross the border illegally. More likely is that it will set up an enormous challenge to the Trump administration’s immigration policies and its ability to deal with an organized group of migrants numbering in the hundreds.

The number of people who showed up to travel with the caravan caught organizers by surprise and has overwhelmed the various towns they’ve stopped in to spend the night. Pueblos Sin Fronteras counted about 1,200 people on the first day.”

It was this invasion that Coulter was responding too. The left refuses to do away with the incentives that draw illegal aliens to flaunt our borders and immigration laws openly housing them in so-called sanctuary cities and allowing them to live at the expense of the American citizenry. Often times it seems as though illegal aliens have more rights in America than American citizens do. Coulter’s comments echo that frustration. Meanwhile, the left falls back on rhetoric and skewed stats based on the Census Bureau using a significant amount of guesswork to tell the American citizenry there is nothing to worry about. Those that question are then villanized such as what is currently being done with Coulter.
According to Kris W. Koback, an expert on immigration law and policy, “The data problem has been explained in detail by demographic experts at the Center for Immigration Studies. The Left’s claim is based primarily on responses to surveys conducted by the Census Bureau and on analyses of prison populations. But when it comes to determining whether a prisoner is foreign-born or native-

You won’t be hearing much about this on the left wing media but a student who was gravely wounded while saving his classmates when he blocked a door shut during the Parkland school massacre said that the real people to blame for this shooting aren’t the NRA and Patriotic Americans. It’s Sheriff Israel and the school superintendent who failed everyone who was killed or injured by allowing the shooter to attend the school and not arresting him before the attack even though they had gone out to his home 39 times in 7 years.

Because he is still too weak to talk, 15-year-old Anthony Borges’ attorney read an on his behalf during the news conference which went on to criticize Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel and Superintendent Robert Runcie for the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland that left 17 people dead and many like himself injured.

Borges was shot a total of 5 times and suffered wounds to his lungs, abdomen, and legs. He was the last of the 17 who were injured to be released from the hospital.
More on the statement via Fox News:

“Borges’ attorney read a statement from the teen during a news conference criticizing Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel and Superintendent Robert Runcie for the massacre. Borges, too weak to talk, sat silently in a wheelchair with his right leg propped up. His statement specifically attacked the Promise program, a school district and sheriff office initiative that allows students who commit minor crimes on campus to avoid arrest if they complete rehabilitation. Runcie has said Cruz, a former Stoneman Douglas student, was never in the program, but Borges and his attorney, Alex Arreaza, said school and sheriff’s officials knew Cruz was dangerous.

Deputies received at least a dozen calls about Cruz, 19, over the years and he spent two years in a school for children with emotional and disciplinary problems before being allowed to transfer to Stoneman Douglas. Last year, records show he was forced to leave after incidents – other students said he abused an ex-girlfriend and fought her new boyfriend. Weeks before the shooting, both the FBI and the sheriff’s office received calls saying Cruz could become a school shooter but neither took action.

Runcie and Israel “failed us students, teachers and parents alike on so many levels,” Arreaza read for Borges, who sat next to his father, Roger. “I want all of us to move forward to end the environment that allowed people like Nikolas Cruz to fall through the cracks. You knew he was a problem years ago and you did nothing. He should have never been in school with us.”

Arreaza said that although Borges’ father, a maintenance worker, appreciates that people consider his son a hero for protecting classmates, he believes such talk detracts from the serious message that action must be taken to stop school shootings.
“He doesn’t want there to be any more bubblegum hero stuff,” Arreaza said.

Many of the school shooting’s survivors have spoken out against gun violence and called on lawmakers for stricter gun control in order to prevent future tragedies.

Borges visited his high school for the first time since the massacre but said he is scared to return for classes, fearing more violence.”

Borges, whose father is a maintenance worker, came from Venezuela three years ago was a boy scout and is known for his soccer skills. Before the shooting, he was even playing as a forward and training with FC Barcelona’s youth academy near Fort Lauderdale.

Glad to see we finally have at least one student calling it like it is.
