MIAMI – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) and task force partners intercepted a succession of drug-laden vessels packed with thousands of pounds of cocaine and marijuana during targeted operations in the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic in recent weeks.

Operation Full Court Press is led by CBP’s Air and Marine Operations Southeast Regionand targets maritime smuggling organizations responsible for cocaine trafficking throughout the Caribbean and beyond. The enhanced enforcement operations leveraged interagency partnerships with the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

“This is the latest example of Air and Marine Operations’ experienced agents stopping threats before they reach our shores by employing advanced aviation and maritime capabilities,” said Southeast Region Executive Director Eric Rembold. “Extending the Nation’s borders further away from the geographic border allows us to dramatically increase our detection capabilities and disrupt illicit trafficking by working alongside our federal and international maritime partners.”

CBP’s Air and Marine Operations Southeast Region area of responsibility extends eastward from Southeast Texas to the U.S. Virgin Islands and includes the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and a large portion of the Caribbean Sea. Agents with the Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, New Orleans Air and Marine Branch, Jacksonville Air and Marine Branch and Miami Air and Marine Branch supported the multi-agency operations.

Air and Marine Operation’s day-to-day operations involve patrolling the seas and skies, intercepting contraband, catching smugglers and assisting in rescue and recovery operations. In Fiscal Year 2017, CBP’s Air and Marine Operations enforcement actions resulted in the approximate seizure or disruption of 269,790 pounds of cocaine; 384,230 pounds of marijuana; 5,721 pounds of methamphetamine; 1,089 weapons and $26.1 million; 2,573 arrests and 37,009 apprehensions of illegal aliens.

Over the past several weeks, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been in the hot seat after it was discovered that nearly 87 million users had their privacy infringed upon, sold to international ad campaigns so they could use it to continue to divide an already fractured country. In light of this discovery, Zuckerberg is now being called to testify about it all in front of Congress this week. The well-known social media mogul will be forced to answer questions about his involvement in this scandal, while others want to confront him for his role in silencing conservatives on his platform.

However, according to a recent report, the lawmakers in charge of questioning Zuckerberg may be tainted as evidence of payoffs have surfaced, which has many wondering if justice will be served.

The purpose of Facebook was to connect people with others so that they could share information about their lives, but evidently, Zuckerberg wanted to share everything whether the user wanted to or not. Over the last few weeks, allegations have surfaced that paint the social media billionaire in an unsavory light as it was discovered that Zuckerberg sold information to foreign advertisers. The information gathered was then used to create more division in the country during the tumultuous 2016 presidential election.
Now that this has been uncovered the American people want answers to this disgusting invasion of privacy, but just 36 hours before Zuckerberg is to be questioned more bombshells have been discovered. According to USA Today, several lawmakers have been outed as receiving some of the “biggest recipients of campaign contributions from Facebook employees directly and the political action committee funded by employees.”

“Members of the House and Senate committees that will question Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg about user privacy protection next week are also some of the biggest recipients of campaign contributions from Facebook employees directly and the political action committee funded by employees.

The congressional panel that got the most Facebook contributions is the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which announced Wednesday morning it would question Zuckerberg on April 11.
Members of the committee, whose jurisdiction gives it regulatory power over Internet companies, received nearly $381,000 in contributions tied to Facebook since 2007, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The center is a non-partisan, non-profit group that compiles and analyzes disclosures made to the Federal Election Commission.

The second-highest total, $369,000, went to members of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, which announced later that it would have a joint hearing with the Senate Judiciary Committee to question Zuckerberg on Tuesday. Judiciary Committee members have received $235,000 in Facebook contributions.

On the House committee, Republicans got roughly twice as much as Democrats, counter to the broader trend in Facebook campaign gifts. Of the $7 million in contributions to all federal candidates tied to the Menlo Park, Calif.-based social network, Democrats got 65% to Republicans’ 33%.
Of the 55 members on the Energy and Commerce Committee this year, all but nine have received Facebook contributions in the past decade. The average Republican got $6,800, while the average Democrat got $6,750.”

Now, many people may want to know who else has been on the receiving end of these hefty donations, and thankfully a list has been compiled. Mueller Investigates Trump’s $150K Donation From Ukrainian Who Gave Clinton’s MILLIONS

Special counsel Robert Mueller is now investigating a $150K “donation” that a Ukrainian businessman made to President Trump’s charity in 2015.
Meanwhile, the same businessman has donated $13 million to the Clintons.

The special counsel’s office is investigating a $150,000 donation a Ukrainian businessman made to President Donald Trump’s charity in 2015, according to a new report.

The donation, from steel magnate Victor Pinchuk, pales in comparison to contributions he gave to the charity Bill and Hillary Clinton set up. The billionaire has contributed $13 million to the Clinton Foundation since 2006 and had access to Hillary Clinton while she served as secretary of state.

But Special Counsel Robert Mueller is not investigating The Clintons. Instead, he is conducting a broad investigation of Donald Trump, including the flow of foreign money into various Trump-controlled entities.

Mueller began investigating the Pinchuk donation after receiving documents in response to a subpoena issued to the Trump Organization — the real estate company Trump ran before entering politics.

In September 2015, Trump appeared via video link at a conference Pinchuk hosted in Kiev. Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, negotiated details of the event with Douglas Schoen, a former consultant for Bill Clinton, according to The New York Times. Trump did not initially request payment for the appearance, but Cohen contacted Schoen at one point to request a $150,000 honorarium, The Times reported.

In a seemingly unrelated matter, the FBI raided Cohen’s Manhattan office and residence on Monday. The search was reportedly conducted for records related to Cohen’s payments to Stormy Daniels, a porn star claiming to have had an affair with Trump in 2006.

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation issued a statement to The Times, downplaying the donation to Trump. The charity reached out to Trump and other world leaders in order to “promote strengthened and enduring ties between Ukraine and the West,” it said.

Contact to Trump was made at a time when “it was by no means assured that Mr. Trump would be the Republican nominee in 2016,” the foundation pointed out.
Pinchuk appears to have had a much closer relationship to The Clintons.

In June 2012, the billionaire attended a dinner at the Clintons’ residence. And through Schoen, Pinchuk lobbied the State Department in 2011 and 2013. Documents filed with the Justice Department show Schoen and Pinchuk met on several occasions in 2012 with Melanne Verveer, a close Clinton associate who then served as an ambassador at large for global women’s issues.

Bill Clinton attended Pinchuk’s annual Yalta conference, The New York Times reported on Feb. 13, 2014. Pinchuk also attended the former president’s 65th birthday party in Los Angeles.

The FBI reportedly investigated the Clinton Foundation over its foreign donations. The status of that investigation is unclear.

Defense Secretary James Mattis has not ruled out the possibility of launching airstrikes against Syria in response to the chemical attacks by its government against its own people.

Speaking with reports on Monday, Mattis said he wouldn’t “rule out anything right now” after being asked if the US was mulling strikes against Syrian President Bashar Assad. WRAL TV5

“The first thing we have to look at is why chemical weapons are still being used at all. Russia was the framework guarantor of removing all the chemical weapons and so working with our allies and partners, from NATO to Qatar and elsewhere we are going to address this issue.” ~ Defense Secretary James Mattis

US President Donald Trump and French counterpart Emmanuel Macron had vowed a strong response to the suspected chemical attack on the rebel-held town of Douma and the UN Security Council was expected to discuss the crisis later on Monday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry dismissed reports that the Syrian government was responsible for the alleged incident, saying the claims were yet another example of a “continuous series of fake news about the use of chlorine and other chemical agents by the government forces.”

“The goal of this… baseless speculation is to shield the terrorists and… the radical opposition that refuse to engage in a political settlement [process], as well as to justify potential military strikes from the outside,” the ministry said in a statement.

Moscow went on to warn that any military action taken in response to the alleged attack would be “absolutely unacceptable” and could lead to “dire consequences.”

In 2017 the United States responded to the chemical attacks that took place against civilians. We fired 87 Tomahawk missiles into an abandoned Air Base, the missiles hit 7 guards that were stationed to keep people out of the abandoned air base.
