On Monday, Melania Trump invited a group of schoolchildren to the White House. During their time together, a little boy accidentally spilled the first lady’s water. The way she responded left the entire room stunned.
According to White House reporter Kate Bennet, who covers the first lady for CNN, Melania held a conversation about feelings with schoolchildren who visited the People’s House on Monday.

“Children asked by @FLOTUS to come up and write on an electric screen with a black marker the feelings they have when they are either at home, at school, or with friends. They ranged from ‘happy,’ to ‘thankful,’ and ‘nervous,’” tweeted Bennet. “As for her own feelings today, @FLOTUS said she was ‘excited,’ and ‘thankful.’”

This is quite a departure from Melania’s predecessor, Michelle Obama, who was always shamefully ungrateful for the tremendous opportunities that were afforded her. This wasn’t the only time on Monday that Melania showed Michelle how a real first lady should act, though.

When a nervous schoolboy accidentally spilled her water, Melania responded with more class and tact than Michelle Obama ever showed in the eight long years we were forced to call her our first lady.

“Several children went up to the board to write down their feelings,” tweeted CNN’s Bennett. She then revealed that a little boy wrote “energized” before he “bumped into this table, spilling the water glass,” according to The Daily Caller. Bennett also posted a picture of Melania standing behind the small table upon which her water glass was sitting.
The poor boy who accidentally spilled Melania’s water was probably tremendously embarrassed at having knocked over the first lady’s drink, but her response could not have been more compassionate in the situation. “Don’t worry, it’s just water!” she said before putting her arm around him. This small, but meaningful, act of consolation was surely just what the student needed in order to feel comfortable again after his faux pas.

Melania Trump says spilled water — even on-camera in a famous house — is no big deal.

It happened Monday in the Blue Room of the White House, which had been set up like a classroom. Mrs. Trump and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos asked a group of 13 middle school students to write on a board how they were feeling. Toward the end, one student who had just written that he feels “energized,” accidentally knocked a drinking glass off a table. He froze, but the first lady put a comforting hand on his back.

“No problem,” she said. “Don’t worry, it’s just a water, okay?”

Mrs. Trump said she had gathered the children at the White House to hear about their thoughts and challenges, to “help children everywhere do their best.” [Source: ABC News]

As one can imagine, having an audience with the first lady of the United States would make anyone nervous. Although Melania Trump has a huge soft spot for children and she’s as sweet as can be, she is also one of the most famous women in the world. Throw in the fact that she is drop-dead gorgeous and a former runway model who speaks five languages and you’ve got a recipe that could make even the most cultured adult feel a bit nervous and inferior.

Even with that being the case, Melania is said to have a way about her which puts others at ease. She also has an energetic young son herself and she has always taken an active role in his upbringing, so a bit of spilled water was certainly nothing new or upsetting to her.
One is led to wonder how Michelle Obama might have responded if she had found herself in the same situation. Certainly not with so much compassion and grace. Thank God we have such a poised first lady in the White House these days! Refreshing, isn’t it?

Billionaire liberal activist Tom Steyer’s “Need to Impeach” campaign sent out guides to more than 5,100 Democratic candidates across the country just two weeks before the first of a dozen Democratic primary debates his group, NextGen America, is bankrolling.

While NextGen and Need to Impeach are separate entities, the timing indicates the California billionaire and political activist hopes ousting President Donald Trump before the end of his term will be a significant campaign issue in the 2018 midterms.

“Tom’s impeachment campaign is run out of Need to Impeach, which is a separate entity,” NextGen America spokeswoman Aleigha Cavalier told Fox News. “The topics of the debate will be on issues that matter to young people — which can definitely include impeachment — but that’s not the focus.”

Special Counsel Robert Mueller hasn’t presented findings yet on a long-running investigation into possible Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Nonetheless, the nine-page Steyer guide contends impeachment is good politics and says “making this case can boost turnout among the Democratic base.”

“Nothing is preventing Democrats from promoting an agenda focused on building a fairer economy, improving the health care system and creating a more equal and just society — while also underscoring the need to impeach this president,” says the guide, which refers to Trump as “one of the gravest dangers our country has ever confronted.”

The first of Steyer’s “Keeping Up With the Candidates” debates will revolve around Pennsylvania’s newly drawn 7th Congressional District; Democratic candidates are set to face off Thursday in Fegley’s Brew Works in Allentown to benefit the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. (Each NextGen-bankrolled debate will be in a venue that attracts younger voters and will raise money for local progressive causes, according to the organization.)

The May Pennsylvania primary involves the seat of retiring Republican Rep. Charlie Dent, with district lines redrawn in response to gerrymandering litigation. Pastor Greg Edwards, Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli and Allentown Solicitor Susan Wild are among the candidates vying for the Democratic nomination.

“Panicked Democrats know the vast majority of Americans disagree with Steyer, but it’s not stopping the billionaire from demanding that 5,171 candidates pledge their loyalty to his baseless effort,” Republican National Committee spokesman Michael Ahrens said in a statement. “Democrats also face the looming specter of Steyer-sponsored debates that will undoubtedly press candidates on impeachment.”

Steyer’s group also plans to sponsor debates in Pennsylvania’s redrawn 5th Congressional District, where the GOP’s Rep. Pat Meehan is retiring; in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District, where Rep. Barbara Comstock is considered vulnerable and where part of Washington’s suburbs are represented; and in California’s 39th District, where Republican Rep. Ed Royce is retiring.
Cavalier said NextGen doesn’t yet have information for additional debates.

In commenting on the debates in a news release, Steyer didn’t mention impeachment. “As millions of young people enter the political debate, they deserve a chance to be represented by elected officials who will address their concerns, discuss their ideas, and take action on the issues that affect their lives,” Steyer said in a statement.

“In 2018, young voters will be critical in races across the country, and it is time progressive candidates pay attention to the youth vote.”

Steyer spent $20 million promoting his “Need to Impeach” effort in TV spots last year. In December, 58 House Democrats voted to bring an impeachment resolution up for debate. The measure failed with opposition from Democratic leadership.

Steyer’s impeachment guide lays out multiple alleged Trump offenses. For instance, it reiterates familiar allegations that Trump and his campaign colluded with Moscow to win the 2016 election. It also asserts that the president obstructed justice in firing FBI Director James Comey, and that he has violated the emoluments clause to enrich his businesses.

Mexico is freaking out as President Donald Trump ruins their “fiesta” with one thing that the National Guard troops are taking with them to the border. You won’t want to miss this.
After Mexico’s Senate warned President Donald Trump not to use military troops to secure our southern border last week, our President hit back with an announcement that he wants 2,000 to 4,000 U.S. troops deployed to help our border patrol agents. Now, Trump’s ally in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott, has just made another announcement about the troops that will end Mexico’s “fiesta” for good.

The Republican Governor of Texas just sent Mexico’s leadership into full panic mode after he announced on Tuesday, April 9, 2018, that some of the National Guard troops being sent to the U.S.-Mexico border will be taking one important thing with them — their guns.

For millions of American patriots, this just sounds like common sense, but try to imagine the glimmer of hope that liberals in our country had when it was announced that the National Guard would only be providing support to the border patrol agents without taking part in the capture of illegal aliens. The open-borders crowd just got kicked in the stomach with this announcement from Governor Abbott.
According to Breitbart, Governor Greg Abbott made the announcement during an interview on a morning radio show with KTSA. He emphasized the importance of troop safety while helping out the border patrol, and he talked about why some of the troops will be armed.

“Whenever they’re in a position where they could be confronted by someone who is very dangerous, they will be armed,” Governor Abbott told KTSA’s Trey Ware. “Our National Guard will be able to fully defend themselves.” Abbott said that the troops will not be armed in an aggressive manner but in a way more appropriate for self-defense.
“We want to downplay any notion that would be misinformed that our National Guard are showing up with military bayonets, trying to take on anybody who’s coming across the border because that is not their role,” Abbott explained.

Texas is stepping up to the plate in response to Trump’s recent request for troops to be sent to the border to deal with the surge of illegal immigrants which began in March. Nearly 38,000 illegal aliens were captured by border patrol agents in March alone. That was a spike “of more than 10,000 in a single month and an increase of more than 200 percent from March 2017,” according to Breitbart.

The Texas Governor said there is a need to deploy National Guard troops to the Mexican border. “You need to understand that there is a mathematical need for this because the people coming across the border have increased dramatically,” Abbott said on Fox News‘ Fox and Friends during an interview on Monday, April 9, 2018.
“What is going on is people don’t just happen to come into the United States,” Governor Abbott explained. “They get here by the drug cartels and by the coyotes who bring them across. Every time we have increased the forces on the ground, there has been a decrease of the cartel activity and coyote activity because they realize they will be losing money. Part of our job is to put these cartels and coyotes out of business. Whenever we are able to ramp up the support on the ground, it puts them out of business, and it’s going to make the border a far more secure place.”

Governor Gregg Abbott also announced on Monday that Texas would be increasing its deployed number of National Guardsmen to 1,000. Governor Abbott said that he plans to send about 300 troops per week until the commitment is reached. Without a doubt, this is not the news that Mexico or the open-borders crowd wanted to hear. It’s time for our country to take back its borders, and in addition to a wall, I can’t think of a better way to do it than with our military.
