The hottest news over the past few days has been President Trump ordering air strikes against Syria which is currently ruled by Bashar-al-Assad and his regime.

Assad came under fire last year for ordering a chemical weapons attack against his own people that left many women and especially children mortally wounded.

Now Congressional Democrats are pissed off at President Trump for his recent orders and they are making him aware.

Congressional Democrats have indicated their opinion that the President’s actions authorizing strikes against Syria are unconstitutional and an attempt to circumvent the authority of Congress.

Moreover, they are questioning his strategy in dealing with Syria. Whereas many Republicans are applauding the Presidents move.

Senator Tim Kaine from Virginia, who formerly ran for Vice President under the presidential ticket of Hillary Clinton, made it clear he believes the Presidents actions are illegal going as far as to say,

“President Trump’s decision to launch airstrikes against the Syrian government without Congress’s approval is illegal and — absent a broader strategy.

Today, it’s a strike on Syria — what’s going to stop him from bombing Iran or North Korea next?

The last thing Congress should be doing is giving this president a blank check to wage war against anyone, anywhere.”

While House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California argued that due to the brutal and inhumane nature of the war crimes perpetrated by Syria it requires a smarter and more calculated response.

She further argued that the President needed to present a far more comprehensive strategy for how he plans to deal with Syria to Congress so that he can gain their approval.

NBC News reported,

“Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., tweeted that it was the same as when Trump struck Syria last year without congressional approval. “What changed? Zero,” Swalwell tweeted. “They’re still using chemical weapons. This is the result of a failure to have a strategy and engage Middle East countries to solve this problem.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said, “A pinpointed, limited action to punish and hopefully deter Assad from doing this again is appropriate, but the administration has to be careful about not getting us into a greater and more involved war in Syria.”

The president announced in an address to the nation from the White House that U.S. airstrikes, in tandem with the United Kingdom and France, were underway in Syria, in response to an alleged chemical attack near Damascus last weekend.”

At a later Pentagon briefing, Defense Secretary James Mattis said that the president had the authority to launch the strikes under Article II of the Constitution because Mattis said Trump was defending U.S. interests.

Key Republicans on Capitol Hill said Friday night that they supported Trump’s decision.
“The United States has taken decisive action in coordination with our allies,” said Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., who said at his weekly news conference Thursday that he believed that Trump had authority to act against Syria with any new congressional approval.

“We are united in our resolve that Assad’s barbaric use of chemical weapons cannot go unanswered. His regime’s unconscionable brutality against innocent civilians cannot be tolerated.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said he supports “both the action and the objective.” “I applaud the president for taking military action against the Assad regime for its latest use of chemical weapons, and for signaling his resolve to do so again if these heinous attacks continue,” said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Of note was Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., who faces a tough re-election fight against Florida’s Republican Gov. Rick Scott, and who backed Trump’s response to Syria, tweeting, “I support the attack because Assad must be held accountable for the use of chemical weapons.””

Regardless of what Congressional Members think the President had a press conference on the attack and detailed why he took the actions he took and what he plans to do.

President Trump emphasized that he completed the attack in conjunction with the French and British military. This was following weeks upon weeks of potential threats of retaliation over the chemical attacks on civilians.

The Pentagon announced that at the order of the President a total of 105 missiles were launched and that they successfully hit every target.

Furthermore, that the allies took every measure and caution necessary to minimize civilian death and to hit the intended military targets.

They noted that at this time they are unaware of any civilian casualties at this time

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained 32 DOJ documents Wednesday showing the Obama Admin gave millions in U.S. taxpayer money to help fund George Soros’ radical left-wing activities in Albania.

Via Judicial Watch:

Judicial Watch obtained 32 pages of records showing the Obama administration sent U.S. taxpayers’ funds to a group backed by billionaire George Soros, which used the money to fund left-wing political activities in Albania, including working with the country’s socialist government to push for highly controversial judicial “reform.” The records also detail how the Soros operation helped the State Department review grant applications from other groups for taxpayer funding.

The records were obtained in a May 26, 2017, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) after both the State Department and USAID failed to respond to March 31, 2017, FOIA requests (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development (No. 1:17-cv-01012)). Judicial Watch agreed to dismiss the lawsuit after it received the documents and payment of attorneys’ fees.

The new documents show USAID funds were funneled through that agency’s Civil Society Project to back Soros’s left-wing Open Society Foundations in Albania, particularly the Soros operation efforts to give the socialist government greater control of the judiciary. USAID reportedly gave $9 million in 2016 to the “Justice for All” campaign, which is overseen by Soros’s “East West Management Institute.”

President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton had this to say about Obama giving millions in taxpayer money to Soros groups to back the Socialist govt in Albania:

“The Obama administration quietly spent at least $9 million in U.S. taxpayers’ dollars in direct collusion with left-wing billionaire George Soros’ backing of a socialist government in Albania. It is particularly outrageous that the State Department allowed the Soros operation to help direct taxpayer funds to other groups. George Soros is a billionaire and he shouldn’t be receiving taxpayer support to advance his radical left agenda to undermine freedom here at home and abroad.”

Prime Minister Theresa May has said she is “confident” of the “success” of British strikes on Syria overnight, as well as defending the attacks as the “right and legal” thing to do.

Speaking to the press from Downing Street on Saturday morning, she described the joint action with the U.S. and France as “limited, targeted and effective” and insisted the aim was not to bring about regime change.

Rather, the Syria strikes, committed to without a parliamentary vote, are intended to show that the international community will not tolerate the use of chemical weapons, she claimed.
Questioning on if it was right to back strikes without giving the legislature a say, as recent Prime Ministers have done, Mrs. May said she would be addressing parliament on Monday.

“There is no graver decision for a prime minister than to commit our forces to combat and this is the first time I have had to do so,” she said. “As always, they have served our country with the greatest professionalism and bravery, and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude.

“We would have preferred an alternative path but on this occasion there was none. We cannot allow the use of chemical weapons to become normalised, either in Syria, on the streets of the UK or elsewhere.
“We must reinstate the global consensus that chemical weapons cannot be used. This action is absolutely in Britain’s national interest.

“The lesson of history is when the global rules and standards that keep us safe come under threat we must take a stand and defend them. That is what our country has always done and that is what we will continue to do.”

Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the opposition, called the strikes “legally questionable” and claimed Mrs. May was “taking instructions from Washington.”

He said: “Bombs won’t save lives or bring about peace.”
Continuing: “This legally questionable action risks escalating further, as US defence secretary James Mattis has admitted, an already devastating conflict and therefore makes real accountability for war crimes and use of chemical weapons less, not more likely.”

The strike comes after concern from senior political figures in NATO allies France and Germany, where the interior ministers of both nations expressed the view that Western strikes against the Syrian government could spark a new migrant crisis, and a wave of migrants arriving in Europe.

German homeland minister Horst Seehofer, the leader of Germany’s anti-mass migration Christian Social Union remarked on the link between Western military action adn the arrival of migrants, saying Thursday: “We both would like the conflicts to be solved diplomatically and through dialogue. A continuation of this spiral (of violence) would amplify the problem of migration”.
