Recorded machete attacks in the UK have shot up by nearly five times in just three years, with the majority in the capital, London.

The huge number of crimes committed with the deadly, sword-like weapons means there is an average of 15 a day in the UK, or one every 90 minutes.

Figures uncovered using freedom of information requests by the Daily Mail show that police dealt with 928 crimes involving machetes in the last two months of 2017.

London saw the bulk, with 425 of the attacks. There were 99 in Greater Manchester, 77 in the West Midlands, and 29 each in Merseyside and West Yorkshire.
Just three years earlier, the deadly blades were used in 100 crimes a month over the same period.

As violent crime surges across the country, and even faster in London, the long blades, designed for chopping undergrowth, appear to be a weapon of choice for criminals in the UK, which is governed by strict gun-control laws.
In January, Office of National Statistics (ONS) figures showed that in the year to September 2017 the police recorded 37,443 offences involving a knife or sharp instrument.

This represents a sharp rise of 21 per cent increase on the previous year, and the highest number of blade attacks since records began seven years ago.

The rise in knife crime was larger in London, jumping by 38 per cent, and gang-related acid attacks are also on the rise.

Across the UK, violent crime overall surged by 20 per cent, robbery was up by 29 per cent, and sex offences surged by 23 per cent.

Since 2011, the number of offences involving a knife or a sharp instrument had been falling, but began rising in the past three years, the ONS explained.

London under the leadership of Labour Mayor Sadiq Khan has experienced more than 50 murders so far this year – surpassing the number recorded in New York City over the same period for the first time.

Three More Cities Join Revolt Against California Sanctuary State Law

Three more cities have joined the revolt against California’s “sanctuary state” law, as opposition to the state — and support for a federal government lawsuit against it — grows.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions traveled to California in early March to announce that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) would be suing the state of California over its sanctuary state law.

City council members of Orange County city Los Alamitos started a domino effect with a late March vote to reject the state’s sanctuary law, SB 54, and to cooperate with federal immigration law enforcement instead. The city also voted to set into motion the preparation of an amicus brief to join the DOJ lawsuit.

Orange County supervisors voted unanimously shortly thereafter to join in the DOJ lawsuit as well.

Orange County city Fountain Valley joined the lawsuit in early April, as did Huntington Beach, and the city of Escondido in San Diego County. Around the same time, the city of Hesperia in San Bernardino County also moved to file an amicus brief in support of the suit. Orange County cities Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, and Aliso Viejo joined the suit the same week.

Breitbart News Senior Editor-At-Large Joel Pollak reported, “The lawsuit targets three statutes: the Immigrant Worker Protection Act (HB 450), the Inspection and Review of Facilities Housing Federal Detainees law (AB 103); and the California Values Act (SB 54).”

The Orange County cities of Newport Beach and Orange also voted to join the amicus brief last week. Westminster joined its neighboring cities on Wednesday to become the most recent city to join in the DOJ lawsuit. That’s three cities just this past week that voted to join the effort to oppose California’s sanctuary state law, according to Fox News.

More cities have made moves against the sanctuary state law. Some have held debates over the issue, while others have talked about scheduling discussions on the matter. Yorba Linda, San Marcos, West Covina, San Dimas, and others are among these. More cities are likely to dive in, given prior vocal opposition to the law.

In March 2017, ahead of SB 54’s passage, eight San Diego County mayors protested the bill, according to local 10 News. The mayors of Poway, El Cajon, Coronado, Escondido, La Mesa, San Marcos, Santee, and Vista denounced the bill as dangerous to their residents.

This past week, California Governor Jerry Brown became the final border state governor to accept additional National Guard troops at President Donald Trump’s request. Trump recently announced that he was sending around 2,000 to 4,000 National Guard troops to the border, but that he would be working with the governors of those states to do so.

The governors of Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico accepted the troops in short order to guard the U.S. southern border with Mexico. Brown was quiet about his decision until announcing this week that he would accept the troops while being careful to stipulate that they would not be enforcing federal immigration law. His office stipulated that those troops would not necessarily go to the southern border.

James Comey’s new book is already coming back to haunt him, and it was just released!

The reviews are in, and most of America is wondering why on earth Comey would agree to write a “tell-all” book, during a time when he’s under so much scrutiny for leaks and scandals.

Regardless, Comey has placed himself “on the record” with his book, and in it, he also admits to his OWN GUILT regarding the botched Hillary email investigation.

Comey, the disgraced former FBI Director admits that he handled Clinton’s email probe with the idea that she was going to be the next President of the United States of America.

Gee, that sounds “fair.”
Former FBI director James Comey said he thinks his assumption that Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 presidential election influenced decisions he made regarding the probe into the Democratic nominee’s email sever.

Comey was asked during an interview on ABC News for a response to Clinton saying Comey’s letter shortly before the election announcing the FBI was going to look back into the email investigation defeated her.

“I hope not,” Comey said during the interview.

He added that he hopes people will try to put themselves in his shoes. He said he was not trying to help or hurt a candidate, but was trying to do the right thing.

He was further pressed on whether his decision was influenced by his assumption that Clinton was going to win the 2016 presidential election.

“It must have been. I don’t remember consciously thinking about that, but it must have been because I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump, and so I’m sure that it was a factor,” he said.
“I don’t remember spelling it out, but it had to have been, that she’s going to be elected president and if I hide this from the American people, she’ll be illegitimate the moment she’s elected, the moment this comes out,” he added.

Comey added that at the FBI, he could never consider whose political fortunes would be affected by a decision.

Clinton has in the past blamed her election loss on Comey.

She has said in the past she was on track to win until later October, when news broke that Comey had sent a letter to Congress announcing the FBI was reviewing additional emails regarding the investigation into her private email server.

Later, just before the election, Comey announced those emails contained no new information.

We are saddened to report that movie director Milos Forman, known for his work on Oscar-winning films “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Amadeus,” has died, his agent said.

He was 86 years old.

Forman died about 2 a.m. Saturday at Danbury Hospital, near his home in Warren, Conn., according to a statement released by the former director’s agent, Dennis Aspland. Aspland said Forman’s wife, Martina, notified him of the death.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Forman, also known for two biopics about controversial Americans — The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996) and Man on the Moon (1999) — died Friday after a short illness, according to his wife, Martina, who broke the news to the Czech news agency CTK.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), adapted from Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel, dealt with life inside an Oregon mental institution. Starring Jack Nicholson as an insurgent patient, it was a sensation at the Oscars, winning five major categories (picture, director, actor, actress and adapted screenplay).

Forman, who became an American citizen in 1975, continued his success in 1979 with Hair, based on the popular hippie Broadway musical, and E.L. Doctorow’s Ragtime (1981), set in New York City in the early 1900s. (The latter, James Cagney’s final feature, was nominated for eight Oscars but won none.)

He married Martina Zborilova, his third wife, in 1999. Their twin sons Andrew and James were named after Kaufman and Jim Carrey, who portrayed the madcap comic in Man on the Moon. He is survived by another set of twins, Petr and Matej.

“One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” is one of my favorite movies- a total classic!

Rest in peace brother and thanks for the memories.

Most of you may not have heard of the AM radio show – Coast to Coast AM but I will tell you that I have personally enjoyed it for years.

Bruce Johnson RIGHT WING TRIBUNE –

We are profoundly saddened with the news that the creator and original host of Coast to Coast AM, Art Bell, has passed away at the age of 72 at his home in Pahrump, Nevada.

While serving in the US Air Force in the Vietnam War, he indulged his childhood passion for radio by operating a pirate station that played anti-war music otherwise unavailable on official channels broadcast to American servicemen.
Following his time in the service, his love of radio led him to working as a disc jockey for an English-language station in Japan where he set a Guinness World Record for broadcasting an astounding 116 hours straight.

This was no mere radio stunt, however, as it served to raise funds to rescue over 100 Vietnamese orphans left stranded by the conflict in their home country.

Upon returning to the United States, he entered the world of talk radio with an overnight program on KDWN in Las Vegas.

After noticing that episodes covering conspiracy theories and paranormal topics generated considerable interest from listeners, Bell transformed the show from political talk to discussion of these often-verboten realms.

Syndicated nationally in 1993, Coast to Coast AM soon became a juggernaut and bonafide radio phenomenon.

During the 1990s, when The X-Files had people wondering about the world of high strangeness, Art Bell was the voice of that world, introducing millions of radio listeners to a vast array of paranormal topics and the researchers that studied them.

Over the course of countless programs throughout the decade and into the 2000s, Art Bell captivated listeners by way of his intellectually-curious and open-minded conversations with guests who were attempting to find answers to the paranormal mysteries which baffle us all.

Although he retired from full-time hosting duties at the end of 2002, Art returned to occasionally helm Coast to Coast AM programs on weekends and later launched his own satellite radio program, Art Bell’s Dark Matter, as well as an internet-based endeavor called Midnight in the Desert.

As founder of Coast to Coast AM, his role in crafting and shaping this program can be felt to this day in elements like the iconic phone lines emanating from East of the Rockies, West of the Rockies, and the always-unpredictable Wildcard Line, as well as the annual Ghost to Ghost AM Halloween specials and, of course, C2C’s signature opening theme song.
We extend our deepest condolences to Art Bell’s family and friends. We celebrate him for his brilliant creation of Coast to Coast AM and the many unforgettable moments he shared with us over the years.

As he begins his journey on the ‘Other Side,’ we take solace in the hope that he is now finding out all of the answers to the mysteries he pursued for so many nights with all of us.
