MOSCOW/DAMASCUS – Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Sunday that further Western attacks on Syria would bring chaos to world affairs, as Washington prepared to increase pressure on Russia with new economic sanctions.

In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, Putin and Rouhani agreed that the Western strikes had damaged the chances of achieving a political resolution in the seven-year Syria conflict, according to a Kremlin statement, Reuters reports.

“Vladimir Putin, in particular, stressed that if such actions committed in violation of the U.N. Charter continue, then it will inevitably lead to chaos in international relations” ~ The Kremlin

The Russian embassy in U.S. wasted no time in reacting to the strikes late Friday in the U.S., with Ambassador Anatoly Antonov saying on Twitter, “The worst apprehensions have come true. Our warnings have been left unheard.”

“A pre-designed scenario is being implemented,” the statement continued. “Again, we are being threatened. We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences.” RWT News
Chemical weapons inspectors have not yet been allowed access to Syria’s Douma, UK officials said as the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) met to discuss the “alleged use of chemical weapons” in Syria.

“Russia and Syria have not yet allowed access to Douma,” the British delegation tweeted on Sunday, adding that “unfettered access [is] essential” and “Russia and Syria must cooperate”.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov immediately denied the allegations that inspectors were not being allowed access, according to Russian news agency RIA.

He said the arrival of the inspectors were delayed as a result of the US-led air raids on Saturday.

Haley told US media that sanctions could come as early as Monday.

“You will see that Russian sanctions will be coming down,” Haley said

The US has already sanctioned Russia over its annexation of Crimea and role in the Ukraine conflict, as well as its alleged meddling in the 2016 presidential election,according to Aljazeera.

Responding to Haley’s remarks about the plans for new sanctions, Evgeny Serebrennikov, deputy head of the defense committee of Russia’s upper house of parliament, said Moscow was ready for the penalties, according to RIA news agency.

“They are hard for us, but will do more damage to the USA and Europe,” RIA quoted Serebrennikov as saying.

The leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah said on Sunday that Western strikes on Syria had failed to achieve anything, including terrorizing the army, helping insurgents or serving the interests of Israel.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said the U.S. military had kept its strikes limited because it knew a wider attack would spark retaliation from Damascus and its allies and inflame the region.

“The American (military) knows well that going towards a wide confrontation and a big operation against the regime and the army and the allied forces in Syria could not end, and any such confrontation would inflame the entire region.”

Bashar al-Jaafari, Syria’s ambassador to United Nations, said the attacks were an “attack against international law,” and called on the three countries to stop supporting “terrorists” in Syria.

Russia has sent two warships carrying tanks and military equipment towards the Middle East following coordinated military action in Syria.

The boats were spotted on The Bosphorus on Sunday, as Vladimir Putin warned that the world would experience ‘chaos’ if Syria was attacked again, Yahoo News reports.

The vessels are believed to be making their way towards the Russian naval base at Tartus on the northern coast of Syria.

A Russian military source claimed that the ships are ‘keeping track at a close distance of US and NATO assault ships and submarines in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea’.

A Russian Project 117 Alligator-class landing ship was spotted off the coast of Turkey on Sunday, reportedly making its way to the military base at Tartus on the north Syrian coast.
Reports yesterday suggested Putin could order ‘payback’ for the strikes in the form of a cyber attack on UK computer systems. Naval observer Yoruk Isik posted photographs of the Russian warships online yesterday, suggesting Russia was stepping up its own military efforts in Syria.

Orsk, Russia’s transport ship, was seen leaving the Bosphorus strait loaded up with what appeared to be tanks, lorries, ambulances and military hardware including an IED radar. A second ship, the yellow tanker RoRo Alexandr Tkachenko, was also pictured carrying trucks and materials for bridge construction, Metro reported.

Former FBI Director James Comey blasted President Donald Trump for being “morally unfit” to lead our country. In return, Trump just smoked Comey with three brutal words that you won’t want to miss.

James Comey has taken the dignity of his formerly held position at the helm of the FBI to an all-time low. In a disturbing interview with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos on Sunday, April 15, 2018, Comey peeled back the very last layer of his stoic exterior to reveal just how ugly and politicized our intelligence community has become.

During the interview, Stephanopoulos said, “You write that President Trump is unethical, untethered to the truth.” Then, he asked, “Is Donald Trump unfit to be President?” to which Comey responded, “Yes, but not in the way I often hear people talk about it.”
Comey continued, “I don’t buy the stuff about him being mentally incompetent or in the early stages of dementia. He strikes me as a person of above average intelligence whos tracking conversations and knows what’s going on. I don’t think he’s medically unfit to be President. I think he’s morally unfit to be President.”

Who would have ever thought that a former FBI Director would stoop so low in an attempt to take revenge for being fired? As Comey lays out his poisonous narrative in the interview, it gives viewers a scary look at just how horrified the left became after Trump won the election. Comey’s face and his words reveal the utter contempt that he and a large majority of government officials felt and still feel toward the President.
During the interview, James Comey also suggested that President Donald Trump could be guilty of obstruction of justice. In my opinion, it’s going to be extremely awkward for Comey when he is the one who faces criminal charges in the future. Comey’s audacity is unbelievable as he spins lie after lie about our President.

The former FBI Director should keep in mind that it was not Trump who illegally leaked classified information and who actively participated in a sham investigation into a fairly elected President as part of a political war. Comey may be getting his moment in the spotlight to portray Trump as “morally unfit,” but he won’t have a leg to stand on when he’s sitting in front of a judge with the entire nation expecting justice for his wrongdoing.

The former FBI Director’s nasty resentment for President Donald Trump completely removes all doubt that he was ever a servant of the American people. Comey comes across as an elitist and a political “holier than thou” creature of the swamp, and the liberal media is now hanging on his every word.At such a crucial moment in our history, it’s invaluable for American patriots to hear directly from the President. On Monday, April 16, 2018, Trump smoked Comey with a brutal response on Twitter and, at the same time, provided his supporters with better insight into the ongoing battle against the deep state.

Comey is the traitor from within, and other deep state operatives, like former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, attempted to help him hide Clinton’s corruption. Now that Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on McCabe has revealed so much complicity, the Department of Justice must appoint a second special counsel to investigate James Comey’s crimes.

China joined dictator Bashar al-Assad’s allies Russia and Iran in condemning the precision airstrikes by the United States, France, and Britain on Saturday, Breitbart reports.

The Security Council meanwhile rejected a Russian resolution calling for condemnation of the “aggression” by the U.S. and its allies against Syria. Only two other countries, China and Bolivia, joined Russia in supporting the resolution. Eight countries voted against it, and three abstained. A resolution needs at least nine “yes” votes to pass.

We oppose the use of force in international relations and call for respect for other countries’ sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. Any unilateral military action bypassing the [United Nations] Security Council runs contrary to the purpose and principles of the UN Charter and violates the principles of international law and the basic norms governing international relations, and will further complicate the Syrian issue.

China urges the relevant parties to return to the framework of international law and resolve the issue through dialogue and negotiation.

China believes that political settlement is the only viable way out for the Syrian issue. Relevant parties of the international community should continue to support the role of the UN as the main channel for mediation and make [a] relentless effort to facilitate the final settlement of the Syrian issue.

According to reports, Russian officials said that they will deploy military forces in the town of Douma, Syria. If the US strikes Syria, any US missile fired at Syria and its source would be shot down and destroyed. In response, the US said its military is ready to provide the President with military options if appropriate and at the President‘s request. New Vermont gun laws block suspected school shooting plotter from getting gun

New gun laws signed earlier this month by Vermont’s governor were reportedly used to block a school shooting plot suspect from gaining access to a gun.

Last Thursday, a superior court judge signed an extreme risk protection order regarding Jack Sawyer, 18, according to the Associated Press.

Sawyer allegedly created a plan for a shooting at Fair Haven Union High School and has a diary he titled “Journal of an Active Shooter.”

The court order comes after Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R) last week signed into law new restrictions on gun ownership, which included new background check requirements, age restrictions on gun purchases and a ban on bump stocks.
Another bill created an extreme risk protection order, allowing courts or law enforcement to take guns away from those deemed to be a threat to themselves or others.

Scott reportedly altered his view on gun restrictions after reviewing the affidavit in the Sawyer case.

According to the AP, the state Supreme Court ruled last Wednesday that there wasn’t enough evidence for Sawyer, who did not act on his plans, to be held without bail.

Sawyer has pleaded not guilty to attempted aggravated murder, according to the AP.

Fair Haven cafe owner Mark Gutel told the AP that people are “frustrated” and “scared” following Sawyer’s bail release.

“Because that’s a serious crime, it was a serious threat — a credible threat,” he said.

The school superintendent said that additions security measures, including a swipe-card access system and an additional police presence, would be put in place.

A court hearing is planned for later this month, according to the AP.
