BREAKING – GREENSBORO, N.C. — Authorities declared a local state of emergency in Greensboro, North Carolina, after an apparent tornado caused damage in several locations around that city. Greensboro police said in a tweet Sunday that there also has been one storm-related fatality in Greensboro, but they gave no immediate details of that death, CBS reports.

They did not elaborate on the damages. But earlier media reports said high winds damaged at least seven homes, destroyed one mobile classroom at an elementary school and toppled trees and power lines.

Officials said one person was killed Sunday after a tornado struck the city, part of a severe storm system that also dumped two feet of snow on parts of the Upper Midwest and knocked out power to hundreds of thousands, Fox News reports.

Greensboro police gave no immediate details about the death. However, Fox 8 reported that the victim was a motorist who was hit by a falling tree. Authorities declared a state of emergency in the city after high winds reportedly damaged at least seven homes and destroyed one mobile classroom.

About 75,000 homes and businesses were without power late Sunday afternoon in the Carolinas. Duke Energy said about 43,000 customers lacked power in North Carolina, and another 9,000 in South Carolina. South Carolina Electric and Gas Company reported 23,000 customers without power in South Carolina.

The airport in Charlotte said on Twitter Sunday that severe weather briefly caused a ground stop and forced air traffic controllers to leave their tower. The ground stop was later lifted.Emergency crews are conducting emergency checks in the areas affected and urged anyone needing immediate shelter to head to a local high school. Separately the city of Greensboro tweeted that damage was “prominent” but that a tornado had not been immediately confirmed by the National Weather Service.

A young father and a woman were stabbed in London within 30 minutes last night, as the number murdered in the capital this year hits 59.

The killings come as News Yorkers living in London said they fear the “crazy” violent crime wave overtaking the city. “It’s like home but without the breakdancing,” one said.

The Metropolitan force launched the first murder probe after Raul Nicolaie, 26, was stabbed at his flat in Colindale, north London. He was rushed to hospital but died from the injuries.

A woman, 34, was arrested at the scene and was taken to a north London police station. She and the dead man were known to each other.
Just half an hour after later, a woman in her 30s was found with fatal knife wounds at a house in Brixton at around 6.30pm on Sunday. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of the killing and he remains in custody at a south London police station. It is thought the victim and the man arrested were known to each other.
So far this year, London’s murder rate has been higher than that of New York for the first time since the 19th century, despite the UK having punitive gun-control laws. The two cities have a similar population size.

Now, New Yorkers living in the UK capital have now told of their worry about London’s violent crime wave.

Adam Janeway, a 28-year-old MA student living in Islington, told the Evening Standard: “I don’t know what you’ve got going on here, man – it’s crazy.

“You got people throwing acid in other people’s faces, kids riding around on moped’s stealing cell phones.

“I’m not the type to get political myself but I don’t really understand how your Government can continue cutting back on the police budget and not think this kind of thing is gonna happen.”

Raniah Day, 39, a substitute drama teacher who moved to Haringey, north London, four years ago, said she was “worried” for those growing up on the capital’s streets.

She told the Standard: “I feel deeply sad when I hear that the murder rate is so high in London or in NYC.

“I feel scared for the young men and women who are living in areas and communities where they are drawn into, or have to navigate, gangs, territories, or peer group violence.”

President Donald Trump made some big changes that impacted food stamp users. They said that it couldn’t be done, but Trump just proved all of the haters wrong. It has liberals hitting the panic button.

Food stamps or “SNAP” is one of the biggest burdens on taxpaying Americans. It is also one of the most devious schemes hatched by Democrats. SNAP is supposed to just help out a family when the breadwinner loses a job. It’s a temporary “safety net,” so that Americans don’t go hungry. All too often, however, it becomes a crutch. People get on food stamps and never get off.

Food stamps, like Welfare and other government programs, have made millions of Americans dependent on the government. Instead of finding a good-paying job to support their families, they rely on handouts. Sadly, the government never gives them enough — ensuring they stay in poverty.
One of the major goals of the Trump administration is to end this system. His agenda to make America great again includes bringing back good jobs for every able-bodied citizen. That leads to financial independence and prosperity for millions of people, who once couldn’t afford the basics.

It seems like that has been paying off, in a big way. A new report out

There’s a “million dollar” Russia question hanging out there, that has conservatives smirking, and liberals cringing.

According to James Comey, President Trump asked him to investigate the “Trump-Russia dossier.”
The question is if the dossier were REAL, why on earth would President Trump ask the head of the FBI to investigate it?

Well, the answer is, he wouldn’t.

This is further proof that the Russia probe is a scam.
The media went a little bonkers Thursday with James Comey’s revelation that President Donald Trump wanted him to get to the bottom of the so-called “Pee Tape” to comfort First Lady Melania Trump:

“He brought up what he called the ‘golden showers thing’ . . . adding that it bothered him if there was ‘even a 1 percent chance’ his wife, Melania, thought it was true,” Comey writes in “A Higher Loyalty.”

“He just rolled on, unprompted, explaining why it couldn’t possibly be true, ending by saying he was thinking of asking me to investigate the allegation to prove it was a lie. I said it was up to him.”

Comey says the conversation took place at a private dinner on Jan. 27, 2017, days after the publication of an intelligence dossier alleging the Kremlin had a tape of Trump in 2013 paying prostitutes to perform the dirty deed on a bed in a Moscow Ritz-Carlton suite once occupied by President Barack Obama.

Lost in the breathless reporting over the former FBI Director’s assertion that Trump asked him to investigate the most salacious items in the political propaganda package known as the “Russian Dossier” is a basic logical question: Why would Trump unleash the full police power of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on the golden shower story if there was even the slightest chance it was true?

It makes no logical sense. One keeps hearing from the smart-set in The Swamp that the president doesn’t behave like an innocent man. That he protests too much. That if he were not guilty, he should start behaving like it.
Isn’t this one of the clearest demonstrations of Trump’s innocence? Here he is talking to the Director of the FBI and he implores him to investigate an allegation so that it can be proved to be a lie. Obviously, if Trump knew the story was legitimate, the last thing he would want is for the FBI to start investigating it.

Even Comey doesn’t seem able to connect these basic dots. In his much-hyped interview with former Clinton operative George Stephanopoulos on ABC News, Comey openly speculates on the veracity of the golden shower episode:

“I said … ‘I’m not saying that I believe the allegations, I’m not saying that I credit it,’” Comey said he told Trump. “I never said, ‘I don’t believe it,’ because I couldn’t say one way or another.”

But when asked if he believed Trump’s denials, Comey remembered being mostly stunned.

“I honestly never thought this words would come out of my mouth, but I don’t know whether the current president of the United States was with prostitutes peeing on each other in Moscow in 2013,” he said. “It’s possible, but I don’t know.”

One wonders why none of the pundits and legal experts pulling down 6-figure salaries on CNN and MSNBC to lend their law expertise to the daily discussion of the Trump presidency couldn’t at one moment raise this fundamental, logical observation.

In a climate where any speculation over the most heinous crimes alleged against President Trump is not only tacitly accepted in the media, but is eagerly encouraged, perhaps someone should point out that Trump would never ask Comey to investigate this matter if it were true. But, I suspect we won’t hear that analysis. After all, it’s exculpatory to the president. And that’s just not part of the gig for journalists these days.
