POLITICAL THEATER Lausch Appointment Continues “Slow-Walk” Release of Clinton Docs

Department of Justice Attorney General Jeff Sessions appointed Northern District of Illinois U.S. Attorney John Lausch to oversee the delivery of more than 1.2 million documents demanded by Congress from the FBI. Congressional investigators claim the FBI has ‘slow-walked’ the release of the information needed for the lawmakers’ investigation and some lawyers are saying the DOJ’s appointment is nothing but “political theater” to avoid contempt of Congress.

Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray made the decision to tap Lausch over the weekend after a subpoena deadline imposed by Congress on Justice Department Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein passed without action.

President Trump also pressured the DOJ to turn over the documents on Saturday tweeting that the DOJ was “slow-walking” the requests to Congress related to the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server to send classified information.

“Lawmakers of the House Judiciary Committee are angrily accusing the Department of Justice of missing the Thursday Deadline for turning over un-redacted Documents relating to FISA abuse, FBI, Comey, Lynch, McCabe, Clinton Emails and much more,” the president said on Twitter.
Lawmakers with the House Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight Committee said they were becoming increasingly frustrated by the DOJ and Bureau, which has stonewalled them for more than four months on the document requests. Rep. Mark Meadows, R-NC, threatened Saturday that there was a good possibility that the DOJ’s failure to comply with the subpoena will lead to a contempt of Congress and possible replacement of Rosenstein. Congress has received roughly 3,162 documents of the 1.2 million documents obtained by the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz in the investigation into the FBI.

Meadows, who was on Fox News Judge Jeanine Saturday, told the Fox News anchor if Rosenstein “does not turn over the documents there are a growing number of us on Capitol Hill who believes that someone else needs to do the job. Constitutionally we have some things that we can do.” Meadows said Monday it is “window dressing to avoid a contempt of congress proceeding.”

Joe DiGenova, founding partner of the Washington, D.C. law firm of diGenova & Toensing and who was considered until recently to represent Trump said the DOJ’s decision to appoint Lausch is political theater.

“I think the problem with the production of the documentation is adding too much supervision,” said DiGenova regarding the appointment of Lausch. “This is all political theater and trying to prevent contempt of Congress. This is all designed to get (House Speaker) Paul Ryan not to agree to contempt and an attempt to delay production of the documents until the November election, hoping the Republican’s lose the House.

DiGenova said Wray and Rosenstein are responsible for the delays and should be held in contempt.

The FBI is also expecting to produce 3,600 pages of additional material Monday requested by the House Judiciary Committee.

The selection of Lausch, who was appointed by President Trump, is a significant development. He has experience both with the DOJ and in private practice and “will ensure that production moves at an acceptable pace and that any redactions are necessary and consistent with the relevant laws and regulations. He will have independent authority to oversee this production and report progress to the Attorney General.”

Isgur Flores noted that Lausch “will also be available to meet with members of Congress to discuss the redaction process to ensure that they remain confident in the Department’s efforts to be as transparent as possible with the Committee.”

Isgur Flores said the majority of that material was not relevant to the FBI’s investigation and “because the Office of the Inspector General is part of the Department of Justice, in response to the IG’s request, the internal production to the IG included all communications between or among certain employees for a specified date range, regardless of the content of such communications.”

She also noted the “documents include grand jury material, the disclosure of which is prohibited by Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e), classified information, and information about unrelated and ongoing investigations that must be redacted in order to preserve the integrity of other investigations and to avoid the appearance of political influence in criminal prosecutions.”

American film director Morgan J. Freeman personally apologized to Mexico on Wednesday after President Donald Trump ordered National Guard troops to the southern border.

In a tweet, Freeman said the “egregious step” amounted to an “ego stunt” that had left him “embarrassed” to be an American.

“Dear Mexico, I apologize for the egregious step taken by our President today,” he wrote. “I hope you know his views do not reflect those of the majority of Americans, and I hope his little “ego stunt” will be over soon. Embarrassed to be an American today.”

Freeman made the comments after Trump signed an official memorandum on Wednesday to deploy the National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border, claiming that “the security of the United States is imperiled by a drastic surge of illegal activity on the southern border.”

“During the administrations of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, the National Guard provided support for efforts to secure our southern border,” the memo says. “The crisis at our southern border once again calls for the National Guard to help secure our border and protect our homeland.”

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he would order National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexican border, hours after leading transition policy adviser Ken Blackwell told Fox Business Network that sending troops would show a coherent Trump policy of treating illegal immigration as a national security and homeland security issue, using all the levers of American foreign and domestic power to enact his policy.

The president had been considering deploying the U.S. military to the border as a caravan of Central Americans are traveling through Mexico, approaching the American border. On Tuesday, President Trump announced that until a border wall is built, he believes he should send troops to secure the border, and he was exploring options with Defense Secretary James Mattis.

The White House announced late that evening that the president was specifically mobilizing the National Guard to take on this task.

New Poll Proves Anti Gun Parkland Students Have Failed

New Poll Proves Anti-Gun Parkland Students Have Failed

A new poll shows that the anti-gun Parkland activist students have not successfully changed the hearts and minds of Americans when it comes to the Second Amendment.

Following the tragic shooting in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 dead and 17 others wounded, some students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School – where part of the shooting took place – said they would not rest until they reduced gun violence, essentially making gun control a central issue for Democrats in the upcoming 2018 midterm election.

Nearly two months after the shooting and a month after the massive nationwide March for Our Lives, their strategy doesn’t seem to be working.

According to a Gallup poll published on Tuesday, Americans’ mention of guns being the most important problem facing the nation fell by over half, dropping from a record high of 13 percent in March to 6 percent in April.

The survey was taken from April 2-11 – almost two months after the tragic shooting in Florida.

Similarly, according to the Tampa Bay Times, youth voter registration among 16-to-25-year-olds was down by 4,500 across six of Florida’s seven largest counties compared to this time of the year in 2014.

During the March for Our Lives, David Hogg, the high school student who made a name for himself as an activist with Never Again MSD, vowed that they “will not stop until every man, every woman, every child, and every American can live without fear of gun violence.”

For them, the news may come as a bit of a shock. If Democrats retake control of the House and Senate in November, little of it will have to do with their activism and more with “dissatisfaction of government” – which continues to lead the Gallup poll at 23 percent – followed by “immigration-illegal aliens” (11 percent) and “race relations” (7 percent).

With all due respect to the Parkland students who went through unimaginable trauma, gun control is not a winning issue for Democrats. Whatever Hogg and company have done, whether it be leading a boycott of news personalities who criticize them (i.e. Laura Ingraham) or top investment firms, it’s not translating into anything that would actually move the needle in their direction.

Rather than focus on improving school safety – which, by and large, are soft targets – or addressing how law enforcement handles red flag warnings, the Parkland students’ obsession with gun control as the one and only answer, in particular, appears to be their undoing.

Bush Camp Gives Update on George HW After Wife of 73 Years Passes Away

Former President George H.W. Bush was by his wife’s side up until the moment she died and is “broken-hearted” at her passing, his longtime chief of staff said Tuesday night.

Bush was married to his wife, Barbara, for 73 years. Though the former president, 93, is devastated that she’s gone, he’s also being “stoic” and “strong” in the face of what his chief of staff, Jean Becker, called a “very challenging time.”

“So many of you are asking, ‘How is 41?’ He, of course, is broken-hearted to lose his beloved Barbara, his wife of 73 years,” Becker wrote in a statement. “He held her hand all day today and was at her side when (she) left this good earth.”

Barbara Bush’s death was originally announced Tuesday evening by family spokesman Jim McGrath. In her final days, she was said to be in good spirits and surrounded by her family.

“Obviously, this is a very challenging time,” Becker said. “But it will not surprise all of you who know and love (George Bush), that he also is being stoic and strong, and is being lifted up by his large and supportive family.”
“He is determined to be there for them as well. He appreciates all the well wishes and support,” he added.

Following news of Barbara Bush’s death, countless high-profile figures expressed their condolences, including the men who would go on to succeed her husband as president.

Current President Donald Trump immediately released a statement praising the former first lady’s “strong devotion to country and family, both of which she served unfailingly well.”
Trump’s predecessor, former President Barack Obama, said Barbara Bush was “the rock of a family devoted to public service” and an “example of the humility and decency that reflects the very best of the American spirit.”

Moreover, former President Bill Clinton called Barbara Bush a “remarkable woman” who had “grit & grace, brains & beauty.”

“She was fierce & feisty in support of her family & friends, her country & her causes. She showed us what an honest, vibrant, full life looks like,” he said.

Finally, Barbara Bush’s son, former President George W. Bush, spoke about his mother’s death and the life she lived in an interview with Fox Business Network.

“She was warm and wonderful to you — till you got out of line,” Bush joked, according to Politico. “She was awesome.”

The 43rd president said that even in her last days, his mother was cracking one-liners in front of her physician.

“You want to know why George W. is the way he is?” Bush recounted his mother saying to her doctor. “Because I drank and smoke while I was pregnant with him.”

And though she might be gone, Bush said the former first lady was not afraid to die.

“She truly believes that there’s an afterlife, that she’ll be wonderfully received in the arms of the loving God,” he said.

James Comey Compares Himself To A Giraffe, Gets Smacked With Reality

James Comey Compares Himself To A Giraffe, Gets Smacked With Reality

Former FBI Director James Comey has become the most recent mainstream media darling, getting more air time than Stormy Daniels. While doing an interview on NBC, Comey recently compared himself to a giraffe. If that wasn’t embarrassing enough, he got smacked with a humiliating dose of reality.

Corrupt former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired in May 2017 by President Donald Trump, is taking every opportunity to cry in front of the liberal media about how he was allegedly martyred for his values. While millions of American patriots laugh at Comey for his ridiculous claims, the left is eating up his every word.

According to Daily Caller, Comey appeared on NBC’s Today with host Savannah Guthrie on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, to perpetuate his claims of wrongdoing by the Trump administration and to explain what many people see as a complete politicization of the FBI. It was another Comey media circus — this one, complete with giraffes.
After Guthrie identified Comey as the man at the center of the political firestorm and added that he was hated on by Hillary Clinton and fired by President Trump, she asked him if it was liberating to tell his story. With the best victim-like expression he could muster, Comey answered, “Terrifying, just because of all the attention to it. I don’t crave that. It’s a little, it’s hard for me to hide because I’m a giraffe, and so, it’s a little freaky.”

Comey’s embarrassing attempt to look adorable and appealing in a demented sort of way ended badly. “You are shorter in person, I did have to say,” Guthrie shot back at Comey before getting down to business. “You know, I don’t want to be an armchair psychologist, but I read the book I’ve been watching your interviews. It still seems raw,” Guthrie said.

Next, Guthrie pointed out the obvious motivation behind Comey’s media tour. “It seems like you might have some scores to settle. You know, that you might have a little bit of anger left over and a little bit of bitterness,” she said.
Of course, Guthrie hit the nail on the head. Comey is a political hack and deep state operative who got sent packing for his failure to uphold the standards of the FBI. “Would you plead guilty to all that?” Guthrie asked.

In his typically smug attitude, Comey responded, “You know, I wouldn’t actually. I would take that one at trial because I think that it is raw in the sense that I find it really painful to relive.” Comey went on to try to portray himself as a man who isn’t holding a grudge.

“But, I really don’t feel a sense of anger. I’m very worried, actually, which is why I’m doing something I don’t love, which is talking about it.” Comey repeated his initial claim, “But not anger.” Guthrie then called out Comey for being catty when he took cheap shots at the President and asked if he enjoyed it. “I didn’t think of them as shots and I still don’t,” Comey replied.
Guthrie continued to grill Comey over his tacky comments about Trump and repeated her question, “Did you stoop?” Comey refused to admit that he’s a classless idiot.

“I really don’t think so. Again, maybe I’m missing it,” Comey responded.
The truth of the matter here is that James Comey can’t sell his story to save his life. He wants to be the martyr and play the victim who was fired by President Donald Trump. The sad truth is that Comey used his power during the time that he was the FBI Director in order to help the agenda of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

The biggest reason Comey can’t see that he’s in deep trouble at the moment is that he’s a narcissist. Typically, those kinds of people never know when to shut-up and find a good place to hide. Now that members of Congress are calling for a special investigation into Comey, along with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, it shouldn’t be long before the former FBI Director only talks to the media through an attorney. It’s time for Comey to give up the self-righteous act and take responsibility for his wrongdoing.
