The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is advising consumers to throw out their romaine lettuce after receiving reports of new cases from the E. coli outbreak that’s been linked to romaine from the Yuma, Ariz., growing region.

Originally the recall was limited to locations across western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.

Illnesses have now been reported in Alaska, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington.

Escherichia coli O157:H7 is a bacterium that causes a diarrhea illness often with bloody stools. Although most healthy adults can recover completely within a week, some people can develop a form of kidney failure called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). HUS is most likely to occur in young children and the elderly. The condition can lead to serious kidney damage and even death.

Based on new information, CDC is expanding its warning to consumers to cover all types of romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona growing region. This warning now includes whole heads and hearts of romaine lettuce, in addition to chopped romaine and salads and salad mixes containing romaine.
Do not buy or eat romaine lettuce at a grocery store or restaurant unless you can confirm it is not from the Yuma, Arizona, growing region.
Unless the source of the product is known, consumers anywhere in the United States who have any store-bought romaine lettuce at home should not eat it and should throw it away, even if some of it was eaten and no one has gotten sick. Product labels often do not identify growing regions; so, throw out any romaine lettuce if you’re uncertain about where it was grown. This includes whole heads and hearts of romaine, chopped romaine, and salads and salad mixes containing romaine lettuce. If you do not know if the lettuce is romaine, do not eat it and throw it away.
Restaurants and retailers should not serve or sell any romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona growing region.
The expanded warning is based on information from newly reported illnesses in Alaska. Ill people in Alaska reported eating lettuce from whole heads of romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona growing region.

‘Student Walkout’ Organizer Vows to DESTROY the Second Amendment

The liberal “gun grab” is not about control, it’s about abolishing the Second Amendment.

The organizer of Fridays’ “Student Walkout” made that clear, by saying no “amendment” is safe, and vowing to “regulate” the Second Amendment.

A small group of mostly high school students gathered in front of the White House on Friday as part of the National School Walkout, an anti-gun protest launched by a Connecticut teen following the shooting deaths of 17 people at a Florida high school in February.

Following a moment of silence plus 13 seconds to honor the 13 people shot and killed at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, the group walked to the Capitol where speakers lashed out at Republicans and the National Rifle Association (NRA).

The organizers from schools in the D.C., Virginia, and Maryland region collected letters demanding gun control from protesters addressed to legislators and registered voters via text.

But like the March for Our Lives protest last month and the first National School Walkout on March 14, the anti-gun walkout protest is being pushed and funded by Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety, which spawned the Students Demand Action group that participated on Friday.

Looking to seize on activist outrage in the wake of the Florida school shooting, Everytown for Gun Safety — the group backed by former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg — is launching a “five-action plan” to energize supporters ahead of the midterms.

The five points of the plan are: Pledge to vote on gun safety; research how much money local officials have accepted from the National Rifle Association, register friends to vote; force candidates to go on the record about gun policy through a provided candidate questionnaire; and urge people who are involved to run for office themselves.

Ian Berlin, 17, a student at a D.C. high school who told Breitbart News he organized the local protest, spoke from a small stage set up on the West Lawn of the Capitol.

Berlin said there are rules and regulations on the First Amendment, citing the permits the group needed to put on the protest.

“And so too must we regulate the Second Amendment,” Berlin said. “Just as the freedoms of the First Amendment are subject to rules and regulation so too must be those protected under the Second.”

“No amendment is absolute,” Berlin said. “Your right to a gun does not supersede my right to graduate high school.”

The teen noted that he was born shortly after the Columbine attack, and the government has taken “no meaningful action to protect our schools and our communities from this epidemic of gun violence.”

“So to the politicians, I say you’ve had 19 years and now you have until November,” Berlin said. “If you don’t act, we will vote you out.”

Another teen, Micaela Lattimer, 17, and a junior at Long Reach High School in Columbia, Maryland, said the anti-gun movement must be “intersectional” — a decades-old feminist social theory that “asserts that people are often disadvantaged by multiple sources of oppression: their race, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and other identity markers.”

“Intersectionality recognizes that identity markers (e.g. “female” and “black”) do not exist independently of each other, and that each informs the others, often creating a complex convergence of oppression.”

Nineveh, Iraq –Eighteen Islamic State members were killed as Iraqi troops repulsed an attack by the militant group on the Iraqi-Syrian borders, west of Nineveh, military sources said on Friday.

“Iraqi troops foiled a fierce attack by ISIS on the Iraqi-Syrian borders, near Rabei’a town, northwest of Mosul. All the attackers were killed immediately, while their weapons were confiscated,” Lt. Gen. Ali al-Aaraji, of the army the 15th division, told BasNews.
The forces, according to Aaraji, “repelled the attack and were deployed along the borders between Iraq and Syria in al-Yaarabiya region, fearing infiltration by more militants,” Iraqi News reported.

Moreover, “the troops launched operations at the nearby villages in search for ISIS members,” he added.

On Thursday, the media office of Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said Iraqi F-16 jets carried out deadly airstrikes against Islamic State locations in Syria from the Iraqi borders side.

Dozens were killed in the attack.

This came after Abadi said on Wednesday that security troops will follow ISIS militants in the whole region, not only in Iraq.

The strikes, according to the statement, were carried out “depending on orders from Haidar al-Abadi, who is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces.”

The statement also added that the strikes “would help expedite the elimination of the ISIS in the region after it was conquered in Iraq.”

Meanwhile, an informed security source told AlSumaria News that the strikes “were carried out by the F16 jets that Iraq owns.”

On Wednesday, Abadi said security troops will follow ISIS militants in the whole region, not only in Iraq.

The Iraqi-Syrian borders are under the control of joint troops of military and border guards.

Meanwhile RWT reported that in Baghdad, IRAQ, the Higher Judicial Council has revealed issuing over 800 verdicts from Nineveh Criminal Court including around 200 death sentences and 150 life sentences to convicts over terrorism charges

In a statement on Wednesday, Abdul Satar Bayraqdar, spokesperson for the High Judicial Council, said “The estimates issued by the criminal courts showed that verdicts were issued against 815 convicts, with 212 death sentences and 150 life sentences.”

Earlier in the week Iraqi judiciary sentenced seven foreign women of various nationalities to death and/or life in jail over affiliation with Islamic State militants.The Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement that the Central Criminal Court sentenced three Azerbaijanis and one Kergyz to death, while issuing a life sentence for two Russians and a French national.

Earlier news reports quoted AFP identifying the French nationa as 29-year-old Jamila Botoato.

Earlier this month, six Turkish females were sentenced to death over affiliation to Islamic State.

In March, the Central Criminal Court in Baghdad has sentenced 13 Turkish women to death over the same charge. The same court sentenced number of women to life and death over belonging to Islamic State. Some of them were Azeri, Turkish and Iraqi.

In February, an Iraqi court ordered deporting a French female jihadist to her country after serving a seven-year jail term. 15 Turkish females were sentenced to life, in the same month, over their membership with Islamic State.

Iraq is holding hundreds of foreign wives and children of Islamic State militants who were captured as Iraqi forces gradually seized back territories held by the extremist group since 2014. The government declared victory over ISIS last December, however, observers warn that the group still poses a security threat with sleeper cells.

Authorities say they are coordinating with other countries to extradite those held who are not convicted of terrorism.

Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country.

Abadi announced, in December, full liberation of Iraqi lands, declaring end of war against ISIS members.

The war against ISIS has so far displaced at least five million people
